The Taste of Sacred Heart! If our parish was a food, it would be Heart Friendly. Come find out on Sunday, October 21, as we celebrate our parish ministry fair. Our social hall will be filled with wonderful tastes and smells as each parish group provides something tasty for you to sample after Mass. It’s like Costco only for Jesus! There are 3 rules for our Ministry Fair: #1:If you see a group that interests you, check it out! #2: Every group will have something tasty to sample. #3: In order for you to have a taste, however, you have to take one of their information sheets!!! (Hey, there’s no such thing as a free lunch!)

Saints In A Jar—come to the social hall and guess the number of items in each jar. While there, read about the saint. The Saints-In-A-Jar will be set out after each Mass through October 28.

OUR FATHER - Disciples in Dialogue Thursdays, October 18 & 25

Canonization of Oscar Romero

The Vatican has announced that Bl. Oscar Romero will be canonized on October 14, 2018. Bl. Oscar Romero, was beatified by Pope Francis on May 23, 2015, in El Salvador, in a ceremony considered to be the largest religious gathering ever held in Central America. He was the archbishop of the nation's capital city of San Salvador and was shot while celebrating Mass on March 24, 1980, during the birth of a civil war between guerrilla forces and the dictatorial government. An outspoken critic of the violence and injustices being committed at the time, Romero was declared a martyr who was killed in hatred of the faith for his vocal defense of human rights. He will become the first saint of El Salvador.
