Happy 42nd Foundation Anniversary to Mindanao State University-General Santos. !MSU-General Santos became an autonomous campus of the MSU System on

October 10, 1973 by virtue of BOR Resolution No. 822. And this year, for the first time, we start to commemorate this event. !

Through the years, the university continued to fortify itself to become an institution of academic excellence and social relevance. Recently, the university has been busy for accreditation and strengthening of its academic programs. This is a challenge to us all towards global competitiveness. But also, this is an opportunity to showcase the best of us both as individuals and as a team, as an institution.

Intramurals like what we celebrate today always sought to develop the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. It helps to keep us to ourselves and to others and be prepared for some bigger challenges ahead. This means a great deal of self-awareness, pushing one’s self to the limit, and teamwork.

The challenge I pose to you is to be the best of what you are, what you have got, and consider intramurals as simulation of what really happens in life; that you have to win both the war and the battle with your mind, body and soul. ! I want you to envision your own future through these, and thus reward yourself and glorify our institution’s humble beginnings. ! Congratulations!
