Rational Numbers: Have decimal representations that either terminate or repeat.
Irrational Numbers: cannot be written in the form m/n, where m and n are integers and n ≠ 0. The decimal representation of an irrational number neither terminates nor repeats.

Some Fun Facts About Radicalsthat you may or may not know!
You can of course have an index > 2 (as we previously saw in Unit 1)
Eg.

Some Fun Facts About Radicalsthat you may or may not know!
Each square root has both a positive and negative result
Eg.
This actually goes for any even index!

Some Fun Facts About Radicalsthat you may or may not know!
The radicand of a radical that has an even index must be POSITIVE.
Eg.

Review!Estimating Square Roots
If you do not have a calculator, you can always estimate a radical number.
Eg.
