The long streets were full as far as the eye could see with the walking dead, here and these the crack of lasguns could be heard as the few survivors fought on in their barricaded houses, the marines stamped out of the Thunderhawk in lock step and formed a firing line on the lip of the

landing ramp, below them the horde of undead surged towards them. 'Stand your ground and shoot straight, Your Bolter's will purify the infected, your flamers will

The plagueFor many millennia the instances of zombie plague have grown more noticeable. The Inquisitors of the Ordo Sepulturum have taken a keen interest in stamping out this ever growing threat. The virus is actually both biological as well as a psychic virus. The biological kills the victim and preserves the flesh showing the decomposition of the vessel, The Psychic part maintains a link between the warp and the victims mind, so the curse psychic energy of the victim maintains a limited control over the now dead body, all be it to the level of eating the living what is left of the mind of the host is consumed within the warp. So one could say that After death The warp maintains the Daemons also crudely maintains the zombies in the realm of the real.

Despite the patient attention of the Ordo Sepulturum however, this plague is an ever increasing threat, the following article should is been circulated around a Planetary defence forces of the Imperium, take note and keep your lasguns charged.

The zombie Horde

A Zombie horde can be used on its own or if you want to make the game more fun then add a squad of Renegade guardsmen or Plague marines, if the contagion is deemed totally out of control then even a squad of nurgle Plaguebearers would not go amiss. Please remember however the main player in the game should be the Zombie, regardless of whatever agent is behind the release of the disease.

Know your FoeThe zombie in itself is not much of a threat, they are not armed all that well if at all, cannot shoot and cannot winkle you out of a Chimera, but remember, 1 zombie left unchecked can infect the whole world.

On mass a group of zombies are a deadly foe, and they are very tough despite their rotting flesh, even a zombie with 60% body mass destroyed can still bite your ankle and you will be joining their stinking ranks. Think! Head = Dead!

Living Impaired Also more than Oftern on the battlefield soldiers will say thing like 'I have killed hundreds, but they keep coming! This is probably not true, the soldier is killing the same one again and again, they just keep getting back up. So remember, go for the head.

DeploymentZombies operate in squads of 10+ with no actual limit. They don't get board either so make excellent guards. Due to this they will lay around dead or dormant within buildings or bunkers they will only activate at the start of the game when a zombie player sees the living coming.

Plague Zombies

A Plague zombie will cost 6 points each and operate in squads of 10 to er...the population of a planet. They can be split into many squads in you like but they are all in fact the same group of zombies. Zombies have no unit cohesion, and no organisation or command structure, we are all equal in death.

Special RulesBrainless:Zombies are brainless and simply don't think of anything other than where their next meal is running from and so they ignore all LD tests and are not effected by fear.

They keep coming:Zombies are incredibly resilient, when a zombie is killed place the model on it side, Each at the end of the turn roll D6 per dead zombie, any roll of 4+ the zombie will get back up, probably minus a arm or leg but still a none living zombie flesh eater. There are a few exceptions to this rule.

Shoot the head: If rolling to hit when shooting and roll a 6 you have targeted the head, if roll to successfully wound the shot is a head shot and the zombie cannot come back.

Winning combat: If your troops win in combat and there are no more zombies left standing your troops can take the time to sever the heads of the undead, note this will prevent sweeping advances.

Special weapons: Power weapons, Melta, Flame weapons and all weapons x2 toughness of the zombie will kill the zombie outright.

Just a scratch:Even the slightest scratch or bite passes on an instant infection. When in close combat roll 1D6 per trooper not injured or killed, a roll of 6 instantly is replaced by a zombie where they stand. If there is a commissar or Chaplin attached to the squad however they can execute the wounded trooper prior to them turning.

Strength in numbers:Large numbers of zombies can be a great threat even to structures and vehicles, If the number of zombies is equal to the AV of a vehicle they will inflict a glancing hit each turn.

Shambling free runners:Zombies may be shambling but can run when their dinner is moving fast enough, they can however not assault into combat and so even if they reach their enemy they get no +1A for their assault.

Its still a zombie!Humans are not the only creature that can be effected by the zombie plague, after all we are all equal under Nurgle's eye. Other races however have slightly different attributes when they become zombies all of which are listed below. As the virus is just as much a psychic contagions as well as a biological one then any creature should be effected by the Plague.
