STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: Continuing its endeavour to weed out social crimefrom the society, District Police Samba under the overallsupervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, arrested sixgamblers and recovered stake money of Rs 8,940 in two sep-arate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari-Bari-Brhamana, District Samba.
Acting on specific information about gambling in theirjurisdictional area, special teams from Police Station Bari-Brahmana headed by Inspr. Ravinder
Singh Rakwal, SHO Bari-Brahmana under the closesupervision of Sunil Kesar SDPO Bari-Brahmana, conduct-ed raids at the gambling spots first at Railway Colony area ofBari-Brahmana and arrested three gamblers namelyKuldeep Kumar son of Rattan Lal resident of Talab TilloJammu, Jagmohan son of Sian Dass resident of Dhiansar,Bari Brahmana and Krishan Lal son of Junk Lal residentof Muraray Chak, Tehsil Bishnah,Jammu along with stakemoney of Rs. 8,500. Then the police party also conductedraid near Railway Station and arrested three gamblersnamely Vijay Ahirwal son of Radha Charan, Narayan Dassson of Ram Krishan and Raj Kumar all residents of VillageKhajirao Teh Raj Nagar District Chattarpur (MP) alongwithstake money of Rs. 440. Taking cognisance into the matter,all the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of GamblingAct at Police Station Bari-Brahmana.
Man jumps in front of train, dies STATE TIMES NEWS
KATHUA: A man was killed after he jumped in front of atrain in Kathua.
As per the details, a man jumped in front of a moving trainfew kilometers from Kathua, in which he got injured. GRPmen shifted him to hospital where he succumbed to hisinjuries.
The identity of the man is yet to be ascertained as nothingregarding the same was recovered from him. A message inthis regard has been flashed in all the local police stations.

The painting of kidsreflected the spirit of patriot-ism and love for country inthe young minds. The creativ-ity of the children was com-mendable and praiseworthy.
Various themes of the paint-ing competition evoked patri-otism on one hand and lovefor nature on the other. In pursuance ofthis aim, Indian Army organised a carpentertraining and workshop for youth from Oct 16 toNov 20, 2018 at Thalela in order to generateemployment opportunities for the local youth. A total of 10 youth has been imparted with
training on all aspects of carpenter training bymeans of practical and theoretical classes byexperienced and qualified instructors. After
attending the said training, they can have betteremployment opportunities or can become selfemployed by starting their own work to supporttheir families. Closing ceremony of carpenter training and
workshop was attended by army and Civil offi-cials. A number of Ex-Servicemen and local peo-ple were also present during the closing ceremo-ny. A total of 10 carpenter kits and certificateswere presented to civil candidates on successfulcompletion of the course. The locals and theyouth appreciated efforts of army.
