![Page 5: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Your physicality crumbles when you present.
And you know that will undermine your message.
![Page 6: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
You have to find YOUR Neutral Position.
![Page 7: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Neutral Position is a strong, confident, centered stancethat is the foundation for your presentation physicality.
![Page 8: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
All of your strong gestures and movement will flow from your Neutral Position.
![Page 9: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
And everyone’s is slightly different.
![Page 10: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Here are 4 steps to finding YOUR neutral position, and loving every minute of it.
![Page 11: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
1. Start by placing your feet hip-width apart, with easy, unlocked knees.
![Page 12: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Avoid placing your feet too far apart (or too close together!) and locking your knees.
Locked knees=restricted blood flow=passing out!
![Page 13: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
2. Raise both arms above your head.
Now, drop them and let them fall naturally by your side.
![Page 14: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Go ahead and repeat that a few times.
Go on! It helps....
![Page 15: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Wherever they naturally land is the Neutral Position for your arms.
![Page 16: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
3. Observe the positioning of your head.
![Page 17: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Your head should sit comfortably on your neck, chin parallel to the ground.
![Page 18: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Avoid tilting your head too far forwards or backwards for extended periods of time.
Not only does it create tension, it affects eye contact and vocal production.
![Page 19: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Now you’ve found YOUR unique Neutral Position.
![Page 20: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
But what about the “loving it” part?
![Page 21: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Sure, at first it might feel a bit…robotic.
![Page 22: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
That’s just because you’re not used to it yet.
![Page 23: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
And just like a dancer, building muscle memory takes time.
![Page 24: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
The key to LOVING IT is…
![Page 25: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Practicing will build the muscle memory that will help you get comfortable with your powerful Neutral Position.
4. Practice!: On the grocery line, at the gym, before a meeting- wherever.
![Page 26: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
And then you’ll LOVE it.
![Page 27: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
Remember, your Neutral Position is the foundation for presentation movement.
Your gestures and movement will flow from there!
![Page 28: 4 steps to finding your best presentation stance and loving it](https://reader038.fdocuments.us/reader038/viewer/2022103014/5498975dac7959222e8b56bf/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
And once you find and LOVE this powerful, confident physicality
you’ll be a master communicator in no time!
