Have you ever wished that you could have a model of your own favorite horse or pony to cherish
forever? Here’s your chance!
Peter Stone of Stone Model Horses (www.stonehorses.com) has volunteered to create a model
horse to honor the great horse or pony selected as Delaware’s “4-H Horse of the Year”. The win-

turned so make sure you have copies.
Add an essay of 500 to 1000 words written by the 4-H’er (age of 4-H’er will be considered in writ-
ing quality). The award will be chosen based on how well the 4-H member can answer the follow-
ing topic:

Describe a horse or pony, real or fictional, current day or historical who
you feel is your hero and explain why.
Do NOT include your name or the horse/pony’s registered name in the essay.

On September 3, 2014, the Summit Bridge 4-H Club had our first meeting. To start our meeting, we had a picnic at Mrs. Shaffer’s house. Then we elected our officers. The officers are: President: Andrew Shaffer Vice President: Hunter Willoughby Secretary: Haley Kirk Treasurer Alynda Larusso Community Service: Emmerson Hickey Reporters: Emma Apps, Karyleigh Troeber and
Brayden Troeber Assistant Secretary/Treasurer: Parker Hickey
We welcomed two new leaders to our club, Chelsea Hudson
and Courtney Capotrio. We discussed upcoming events and
activities such as science projects for the club and Science
Saturdays at the University home football games. We talked
about county activities, including the sign-up for the county
Achievement Banquet, National Meetings and completing our
record books.
Registration increased
substantially this year with 175
registered participants for the
2014 4-H Quest for the Clover
5K. Thank you to all of our
sponsors and volunteers. Special
recognition to the 4-H Food
Smart Families team and Dead
Presidents Restaurant. Without
