Blog 4 – “Impact” of Energy Storage Paper At this point, you have researched your identified paper topic through lots of research and writing a primer/introduction. It’s now time to make a “last”-ing impression. A key component to writing your paper is identifying a key or critical point that brings true value to your topic, which is what will tie the entire contents of the paper together and will help the reader understand the unique value to your manuscript. Keep in mind that the unique positioning is your focal point, it’s what the reader remembers and wants to know more about. A good impact point provides insight, yet provide evaluative and critical dimensions to the paper and topic. It can be provide a new perspective on the current state of the topic area and also note flaws, gaps, and inconsistencies in the knowledge and potential areas for future research. Most importantly, this impact point should highlight how your topic fits into the broader area of interest, whether a research area, discipline, or an overall global challenge. The impact point of your paper is the pivot of the article and should build off your introduction. Since you have not yet completed the literature review of your topic area, this impact point will only be based on what you have read thus far on your topic. Since this is not yet a comprehensive evaluation at this point, please feel free to make note of such gaps as you write identify your impact point (since this may change as you continue to work on your paper). For this blog assignment, write the impact point of your paper utilizing all research you have done thus far and using additional references that you have found since Blog 3. At this point, you should have a minimum of 30 usable references for your paper (assuming you are looking for 10 sources per week.) Make sure to use and cite sources/references (do not only list them at the end.) The entire blog should be no longer than 600 words (not including references.) Specifics Instructions: 1. Always cite your sources. 2. Please keep in mind that the blog/topics should be a draft conclusion to your paper. 3. Consider including photos, diagrams, external links, etc. Make sure to cite/attribute all images used. 4. Length of the blog should be no more than 600 words (not including figures and references.) 5. Post your blog by 11:00 pm on October 10, 2017. 6. NOTE: Post a minimum of 2 comments to two different classmates’ blog posts between October 10 th and 17 th . Think critically about your classmates’ posts, find resources/references that support your comments, and post your comments in between the scheduled dates only. Additional Notes: You cannot change the post that you submitted or posted on the due date. Any changes you would like to make to your post can be done by commenting on your own post after you have posted it. Do not use any derogatory language and be respectful of each other’s work. Your comments on each other’s posts should provide additional insight into the material posted, present questions or thoughts for consideration, render new ideas, and other critical thoughts on the topic.
