In the Samoan culture, the Ifoga is a ritual way of atoning for one’s wrong doing.
Our priest is covered with a fine mat called a ‘ie toga, which takes months or
even years to weave.
From under the mat, our priest asks for God’s forgiveness for the entire parish.

two smaller meals with no snacks. Fasting laws apply to all
Catholics from ages 14 to 59 who are in good health.
The only fasting days by Church law
are Ash Wednesday
and Good Friday.
