Ms Garvey's 3rd Class Weekly Plan of Work 11th-15th May
3rd Class Weekly Work Plan
Hope you are well and getting plenty of fresh air and exercise! I have a new plan of work ready for you this week. Please do your best to complete the English and Maths work I have included. Reading aloud and silently everyday is very important. Lots of practice of revision in Maths is also really important.
It is really important to have a plan when we are doing our work. The timetable should include breaks for exercise and meals. I’ve included an example a of timetable. Now make your own!
For this week, you might like to try the Building Bridges Challenge for May. This is on the school website and is a really lovely reading activity with lots of fun activities for you to try after you have read the book. You can choose to do the Building Bridges challenge instead of the Reading and Writing activities in the plan below.
Good luck with this work and most importantly, have fun!
Ms Garvey

Spelling and Word Reading
Word Reading and Spelling:
SOS Spelling Method
Follow the routine described for each word:1. Write the target word out or form it with plastic letters.2. Tell your child how to say the word and what it means if they don’t know.
3. Ask your child to copy the target word and to say the name of each letter as it is being written.
4. Ask your child to look at what they have written and to say the whole word.5. Ask your child to check that what they have written is the same as the target word.
This checking is done letter by letter from the target to the copy.6. Your child should then try to write and say the target word from memory. If he or she
makes any mistakes, identify the mistake and then continue once the mistake has been rectified.
7. Repeat Step 6 until the word has been written correctly three times
