A-Teams Bring Their “A” Game! FROM PANIOLO GREENS RESORT –submitted by Britney MacMac This quarter our PG A-Team is focusing on utilizing our Wish Days

and adding excitement to our daily work. We have already started

a new program with our Housekeeping department called

“Awesome Bucks”. This is just a little way to show our associates

that if they put in the hard work to give our guests the “Count on

Me” experience that they are looking for, it won’t go unnoticed.

This program has really boosted team morale and has added a

little spunk to the everyday work experience. With “Awesome

Bucks” associates can purchase items like candies and juice.

We are currently looking into multiple charity organization options

for our WISH days, and have created sign-in sheets for associates

to make it easier for them to view the approved options. Many

associates do not own cars or drive, so this sign up system helps

everyone by providing the option to double up with each other and carpool to the charity destination. This can make

for some AWESOME road trips!

FROM KONA COAST RESORT – submitted by Tony Domondon, Jr.

“Wat Da Haps” is our local way of saying “What’s

Happening”.

Well, the Kona Coast Resort’s A-Team really has one answer

for you all…”Wish Day, Wish Day, Wish Day”.

We have been focusing on getting our associates to utilize

their “Wish Day” benefit and also providing an avenue to

help out our local community. So far, about half of our

associates have provided services to our community through

non-profit organizations such as the Food Basket, schools

and the American Cancer Society, to name a few. The

organizations are very thankful and appreciate all the help

our associates provide. When asked, our associates say they feel really good about helping out; the best part is when

they come back to tell everyone what they had learned about the organization, and comment that they want to

continue volunteering! We can’t explain the feeling of satisfaction knowing that the A-Team had contributed and

helped to make that happen.

Though our focus is “Wish Day” we also have been tasked with on-going Blood Bank recruitment, Associate Opinion

Survey notifications and the like.

A-Teams Bring Their “A” Game! (continued from page 2) FROM HANAMA PLACE – submitted by Monica Pasco

The Hanama Place A-Team (a.k.a. the “Fun Committee”) is tasked with the relationship-building facet, both internally within our office and company, and externally through the Kona community. So far this year, the A-Team has focused on providing Wish Day avenues to associates, hosted associate appreciation days, and created/implemented work processes that help operations run more efficiently. Go A-Team!

Bon Voyage Janet! -submitted by Danielle Visitacion

On August 13th RCI announced the promotion of Janet Wilson

from her current role as the Wyndham Kauai on-site

representative to Supervisor within the RCI On-site program.

With this promotion, Janet relocated to Orlando, Florida and will now supervise the east coast RCI on-site team. Janet’s last day with us on Kauai was on September 26th. This news was bittersweet for many of us, as Janet has been an important contributor to the RCI – Wyndham relationship for many years. She was always available and exceeded in serving our RCI members with their vacation planning and always had her door open for those who needed her while here on Kauai, for both RCI members and Wyndham associates alike. Many RCI members always made it a point to make the trip over to Ka ‘Eo Kai no matter where they were staying just to see her friendly face! We are all very proud and excited for her but she will be truly missed. Congratulations Janet on this wonderful career accomplishment and best wishes! The Kona Coast Resort Guest Services, Reservations, Administration, “Splash!” and Maintenance departments celebrated being accident free for the 2nd quarter with a pizza party! Congratulations!

Paniolo Greens Welcomes New Staff Members – submitted by Kenneth Dato

Larraine Luckymis comes to Paniolo Greens with experience in the food and beverage industry. She’s originally from Kosrae, an island off of Micronesia. In addition to speaking fluent Kosraean, Larraine is fluent in English as well. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and going shopping. Justin Moepono comes to Paniolo Greens from another Shell Vacations property on Oahu, The Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai. Being born and raised on Oahu, the Big Island is a nice change for Justin who loves the ocean and surfing. He enjoys spending time

with his family and friends, and going to the beach. Tamy Alnas joined Paniolo Greens in August. With experience in the food and beverage industry, Tami is very guest service oriented, and is thriving at the Front Desk. She’s originally from Brazil, and aside from being fluent in the English and Portuguese languages, she can communicate fairly well in Spanish too. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends. Debra Kaluna comes to Paniolo Greens with experience in the food

and beverage industry, and still enjoys welcoming our malahine (visitors) to the islands as a host at a nearby luau. As a GSA she enjoys assisting guests and always does her best to go

above and beyond to help her fellow associates make the front desk operations run smoothly. She likes to spend her spare time with her husband and friends, and enjoys hosting family functions; cooking is her thing! Moira Coleman is no stranger to the Paniolo Greens family; she transferred from the Housekeeping Department where she worked as a Room Attendant for almost two years, to the Front Office earlier this year. Her interest in growing with the company led her to Guest Services where she now works as a Guest Service Representative. Moira enjoys learning new skills and helping our guests at the front desk. In her spare time she enjoys spending time in the outdoors, whether it be hiking or running.

September is Housekeeping Appreciation Month! (Continued from page 5)

From Paniolo Greens: September is always the time of the year we can really show our appreciation for our Housekeepers- the people most responsible for “keeping our units sparkling and guests smiling.”

It was a memorable week at Paniolo Greens! We started off our FUN filled week from September 14th through the 20th. We celebrated with fun games which were done daily, provided breakfast and pizza on various days, and then closed off with an AWESOME potluck. Housekeeping also enjoyed their little gift lunch bags with goodies which included candies, sanitizer, and a keychain with personalized sayings attached to them - expressing how much we appreciate each and every one of them .

We surely have a unique bunch! It was exciting for them to come to work and have fun. The week was filled with laughter and excitement that echoed through the halls. Everyday always ended up with some kind of water game. One day we included an ice bucket

challenge which ended with the water balloon game named “extreme”. That was an all time favorite! Paniolo Greens Housekeepers - you rock, and are much appreciated!

Ilikai 50th Anniversary Celebration

On Friday, September 19, 2014 the Ilikai celebrated its 50th Anniversary with food, music and fireworks in the Ilikai courtyard. The Ilikai, well known as the visual icon in the long running TV series Hawaii Five-O, first opened doors on February 29, 1964. Our sister property, The Waikiki Marina Resort, is situated at the popular landmark. (submitted by

Associates On The Move

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING ASSOCIATES FOR “MOVIN’ ON UP”!

Kristin Moepono transferred from Waikiki Marina Resort where she was a Guest Services Associate for almost nine years. She came to Paniolo Greens in July of 2014 as our Assistant Guest Services Manager. Kristin brings with her a wealth of knowledge in the Opera system as well as in guest relations. She is wonderful with the owners and guests as well as with her staff. Kristin has been busy training with almost a completely new

staff at the front desk at Paniolo Greens. She enjoys learning new things, especially the deeded owner side of timeshare. Kristin is married and has two beautiful children. In her spare time she likes to read and spend time with her family. (submitted by Wendy Andrews) Danielle Visitacion has been promoted to the position of Guest Services Manager for Bali Hai Villas. Dani excelled in her previous position as Resort Administrative Assistant over the past few years. She was a Guest Service Agent here at Bali Hai Villas prior to being promoted to Resort Administrative Assistant. This experience, coupled with her previous Management experience, makes Dani an outstanding

addition to our Management team. We are lucky to have her and very excited for her success. (submitted by Christopher Reed)

Lowen Luta: Mahalo to Paniolo Greens for letting us steal Lowen Luta! Lowen joined Holua Resort as the Grounds Supervisor at the end of June and has made quite a positive impact in his short time with us. Prior to joining Holua, Lowen was a Maintenance Technician at Paniolo Greens. We are very lucky to have Lowen on our team. (submitted by Kalae Wheeler)

Meet the Manager! Jennifer Naranjo, Guest Services Manager, Kauai Coast Resort Jennifer (Fermin) Naranjo started with Kauai Coast Resort in 2002 as a Front Desk Representative, was promoted to Front Office Supervisor in 2007, and then to Guest Services Manager in 2012. Jennifer is known for providing excellent customer service to our owners and guests. When asked, “What was your most memorable moment while working at KCRBB?” Jennifer’s reply was, “Every year we have freshly baked cinnamon rolls delivered to the front desk by one of our owners. It’s become a favorite here at KCRBB. We all look forward to enjoying it every year”. When Jennifer is not working, she enjoys cooking, shopping and spending time with her husband (Eric) of 2 years. They hope someday soon to start a family, to add to their newly purchased home!

If the opportunity arises, Jennifer aspires to become Resort Manager one day.
