Welcome to ICN 2016o History

n After 3 SIGCOMM workshops, ICN started in 2014 as one of the premier conferences for Information-centric Networking technologies.

n ICN 2016 is the first in Japan.o Scope

n The fundamental concept in ICN is to provide accessing named data as a principal network service, evolving the Internet from today’s host based packet delivery towards directly retrieving information objects by names in a secure, reliable, scalable, and efficient way.

Program

o Five full paper sessions n ICN router design; routing, forwarding, & caching;

congestion and in-network control; security and privacy; applications over ICN and ICN support for applications

o Two short paper sessionsn Aiming to sprout discussion

o Two panelsn Opening panel: ICN “five years later”, a half-decade after

the First ACM Workshop on ICN at SIGCOMM 2011. n Closing panel : opportunities and challenges for Internet

privacy using ICN.

We hope that we succeeded in this goal and thatyou will enjoy the conference! 9

Goal: Advance knowledge & critically chart the road ahead

TPC trivia and fun facts (2/2)Optimizing the number of authorso Short: Papers with 2-3 authors have 62.5%

acceptance (4 authors = 11%)n Remove one author at random at submission

to increase by 6x the acceptance rate!

o Long: Papers with 2-3 authors have 22% acceptance (4 authors = 33%) n take one of the leftout authors from the short

papers to increase your odds by 10%

o Long: 100% of papers with 9 authors accept!n take all authors left out from all short papers

to be sure next time!14
