Alpha-channel SupportAlpha channels let users control the transparency of araster image so images can be more smoothly blended withbackgrounds. PNG, BMP and TIFF high resolution imageswith transparent scene backgrounds can be created andoutput.

Per-pixel LightingPer-Pixel lighting, also known as Phong shading, lets youdiffuse the reflection of light on your model surfaces,improving the interpolation of light and adding additionalrealism to your renderings.

Ambient OcclusionAmbient occlusion approximates the way light radiates in reallife giving scenes a softer and more natural appearance.

Depth of FieldThe new depth of field functionality allows you to blur portions ofthe screen away from the camera focal point.

New Silhouette MethodsDVIA Composer VRx offers three different silhouettestyles. Crest generates silhouettes for actor perimeters andsignificant actor edges. Per Actor generates silhouettes for actorperimeters. And the Model method generates silhouettes forperimeters around an entire assembly.

Custom HotspotsHotspots are groups of actors with a shared highlight, tooltipand link properties that help more clearly define custom setsof actors in vector output. Bill of Materials hotspots can nowbe generated for either CGM or SVG formats.

Multiple Properties in Annotation TextUsers can now include multiple actor properties in tooltip andcollaboration text and embed properties or meta-propertiesin their text. This text then updates automatically whenthe associated property values change, helping users toimmediately incorporate their changes.

Custom CompassThe ability to intuitively navigate within a D space is a keyelement for a user. The new customizable compass allowsusers to define the compass tool as a collaborative actor anddefine its properties.

Unresolved Actor Association IdentificationDVIA Composer VRx allows users to identify actors withbroken associations with a single right-click in the Collaborationpanel. Being able to locate these actors allows them to beremoved or re-associated with different geometry actors.

Vector EPS OutputThe Technical Illustration workshop can now createEncapsulated PostScript (EPS) images. EPS is commonly usedto transfer images between applications.
