    Stitch Type-503+401(515)

    Combination stitch consisting of a single-needle chainstitch (401) and a 2-

    thread Over edge stitch (503) that are formed simultaneously. Uses less

    thread than a 516 stitch; however, many manufacturers prefer a 516 stitch.

    Usage- Safety stitch Seaming Wovens & Knits

    Combination stitch consisting of a single-needle chain stitch (401) and a 3-

    thread Overedge stitch (504) that are formed simultaneously.

    Usage- Safety Stitch Seaming Wovens & Knits

    Stitch Class-600(Flat Seam Stitch)

    It is formed with two or more groups of threads and for general

    characteristics has two groups cover the raw edges of both surface of

    material. Loops of first group of thread are passed through loops of thirdgroup already cast on the surface of the material and then through the

    material where they are interlooped with loops of the second group of thread

    on the underside of the material. However, 601 have only two groups of

    thread and function of third group is performed by one of the threads in first

    group.

    Stitch Type-602

    Stitch formed with 2-needle threads, a top cover thread and a bottom looperthread.

    Usage- to cover raw edges of knit garments, to attach flat knit or ribbed knit

    collars

    Stitch formed with 3-needle threads, a top cover thread and a bottom looper

    thread.

    Usage- Lap seaming, Cover seaming, Binding on knits

    Stitch Type-607

    Stitch formed with 4-needle threads, a top cover thread and a bottom looper

    thread. Preferred over 605 stitch because machines are easier to maintain.

    Usage- Flat or Lap Seaming Knit Underwear, Fleece, etc.
