Product overview
• A non-SNMP Gigabit switch for desktop and/or wiring closet aggregation applications
• Basic web-based configuration capabilities– Port, speed, duplex configuration– VLANs– Link aggregation– Traffic prioritisation– Traffic monitoring
Product Positioning and Target Audience Messages
• Priced no more than an unmanaged switch
• Positioned as an ‘enhanced operation’ or ‘configurable’ switch.
• Up-sell to existing Baseline customers, currently opting out for unmanaged, unable to afford managed
– Mitigating their perceived financial risks and addressing their budget constrains
– ….“I can’t afford managed”
• Target tier-2 branded, L2 managed product vendors (Netgear, D-link, Linksys)
– Focusing on brand & need Vs features thus mitigating brand security risks
– ….“I want just the essential functionality from a brand I can trust”
Baseline Vs SuperStack positioning
Managed:
• SNMP managed
• RMON support
• Proactive management
• Medium/Large Enterprise environment
Unmanaged:
• No pre-configuration possible – out-of-the-box operation
• Small Business environment
Smart:
• Out-of-the-box operation as per unmanaged products – no pre-configuration is necessary
• Quick set-up/configuration for enhanced operation via a web GUI
• Small/Medium Business environment

Features and benefitsFeatures Benefits
Outstanding valueTake advantage of flexible, configurable and powerful switching that costs not more than an Unmanaged Gigabit Switch
Highest performance Switches at blazing Gigabit speeds to help eliminate network traffic bottlenecks.
Browser-based user interface for switch configuration and administration
An extremely easy to use user interface allows even the most novice users to configure the switch during initial set up or normal operation
Flexibility
Take advantage of four dual purpose ports which can operate as 10/100/1000 copper or as SFP-based fiber ports. Use each independently for maximum flexibility or trunk a number of ports together to create an ultra high bandwidth pipe connecting the switch to a network backbone. Trunks can mix any media together (copper and SFP-based fiber, 1000BASE-SX or LX)
VLANs
Network can be segmenting by grouping users based on their data/traffic exchange requirements. This ensures optimal use of available bandwidth as traffic flow is directed according to the needs of the business. The switch supports up to 256 VLANs
Link aggregation (trunking)
Any number of ports of either copper or fiber can be grouped together to form an ultra high bandwidth pipe connecting the switch to a network backbone and prevent any traffic bottlenecks. The switch supports up to 4 trunks and up to 8 ports per trunk
Traffic prioritisationMission critical traffic can be prioritised either by using standards based IEEE 802.1p
Traffic monitoring (port mirroring)The user can examine suspect data streams received on any port, by mirroring the data stream received to a monitoring port
Plug and play operationSwitch is operational straight out of the box so, as long as basic connectivity is needed or the user is happy with the default configuration, no time has to be spent on set up
