WehadanotherverybusyandsuccessfulmonthofFebruaryandMarchpromisestobeasbusy. During the Trachtenfest we were extremelyfortunate to have special performances by

the Orlando Trachten Verein including the Alpenhorn andtheSchuhplatterGruppeAlpenroseandtheirYoungDancers.

Both Schuhplatter Gruppen performed a special dance togetherwhich completed a special night indeed. A special thanks to bothDanceGruppenfortheiroutstandingperformances.

The Narrensitzung/Rosenmontag event was a night offoolishness, dancing and sadness during the burial of the KarnevalSeason.Funwashadbyall.

I'd liketothankourPrinzenpaar,PrinceLesandPrincessBonnieforrepresentingourClubduringtheKarnevalSeason. IalsowouldliketothanktheElferratandKG,foranothersuccessfulKarnevalSeason.

Iamveryhappy toannounce theBoardofDirectorshasappointedlong-time member Ani Braun as Secretary to fill the positionvacatedwiththeresignationofChrisMyers.

ItakethisopportunitytorecognizeandthankChrisMyersforallhisdedication and hard work as our Secretary and for volunteeringthroughouttheyearsforourClub/Society.ThankyouChisforajobwelldoneandforassistingAniduringthetransitionoftheSecretarialduties.

It is time to start the process of preparing our facilities for ourupcoming GermanFest. Director Dave LaMarre continues tocoordinateall thevolunteers andposting thepositionsbothon theclub bulletin board and on the internet. Also, VP Bill Bond willcoordinate the upcoming work days. We will continue with theWednesdayworkdays,soeveryoneiswelcometojoinus.

It isFesttimeagainandI’mcallingonallofourmembersandnon-memberstovolunteerforourupcomingGermanBeerFestthisApril,as you have done in the past. This Fest is one of our Club’smostimportant fund raisersof theyearandweneedeveryone’shelp tomake it a success. Any time that you can give us will be mostappreciated.

Thisyear,weareonlyhavingaSaturdayFestintheSpring,insteadof a Friday night and Saturday, as we do at our Oktoberfest. Thisyear’sGermanBeerFestwillbeonSaturday,April18th fromNoon-10PM.Theshiftswillbeexactlythesameastheyhavebeen inthepast,FirstShiftisNoon-5PMandtheSecondShiftis5-10PM.

meknowyouravailabilityforSaturday,April18th,eitherway.Whenyoucontactme,pleasespecifywhichshiftorshiftsyouwant tobescheduledforandwhichstationyouwouldliketobeplaced.Pleasedo this as soon as possible, so I can assign you to the station youwould like before those spots fill up. Also, please refrain from justshowinguponFestdaywithoutcontactingmefirst.Thisway,Iknowthatyouwillbehelpingoutthatday,Icanfindastationforyou,anditalsoallowsmetofinalizeourshiftlistsasearlyaspossiblepriortoGermanBeerFest.PleasealsocontactmeifyouhaveanyquestionsaboutvolunteeringatourFest.

Also, as I mentioned at November’s Membership Meeting, we arelooking for people to fill supervisor roles during the Fest, such ascoordinatingtheVendorsorworkingwiththePaidHelpSupervisortomake sure everyone is placed correctly. I am also looking forsomeone to assistmewith the volunteers, both before and duringthe Fest. Letme reiterate, these are not positions on the Board ofDirectors, theywould just requireyourassistanceduring theweeksleadingup toand thedayof theFests. So, if youare interested infillingoneoftheserolesfortheupcomingFest,please letmeknowwhenyoucontactme.

Again, we need everyone’s help to make this year’s German BeerFestsuccessful,sopleasetryandmaketimetovolunteerforoneoforbothofourshifts.Thankyouinadvanceforyourtimeandtalents
