This state offers a million-year geological tour in just a week. Looking with ancient eyes we see how the topography has altered in this part of the U.S., from the lush Zion to the glistening fingers of Bryce Canyon to the alien forms of Arches — all the result of thousands of years of wind and water — you’ll see it in clear relief. We begin our journey with our flight from CVG to Salt Lake City where we’re met by our deluxe motorcoach for the brief ride into the city itself. Once in Salt Lake we’re treated to a city tour, including TEMPLE SQUARE, home to the world famous Mormon Tabernacle and Choir. The next day we head away from Salt Lake for our day-trip out to Park City and home to the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVALand U.S. OLYMPIC TRAINING SITE. Then on to PROVO, home to Robert Redford’s SUNDANCE RESORT, our stop for lunch. The following day we’re off to Utah’s oldest national park, ZION NATIONAL PARK, designated in 1919. The Virgin River has gnawed through native sandstone to create the incredible scenery found in Zion. We’ll overnight at the ZION PARK LODGE before meeting our park guide the next morning for our guided tour. Then on to the amazing natural wonder of BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK and a ranger-guided tour as we wonder at the thousands of delicately carved spires that rise in brilliant color from the amphitheaters of the canyons. Our evening invites us to a COWBOY RODEO SHOW complete with campfire-favorite “vittles” and sing- alongs. Off we go the next morning to our final national treasure in this diverse state, ARCHES NATIONAL PARK and nearby Moab. This red rock wonderland contains some of the most scenic and inspiring landscapes anywhere, with the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches. Our evening is mellowed with a visit to the RED CLIFF LODGE and CASTLE CREEK WINERY for dinner and wine tasting, before travel back to Salt Lake the following day and our return flight to Cincinnati the following morning. TOUR PACKAGE: Includes round- trip airfare from CVG via Delta Air- lines; deluxe motorcoach transportation in Utah; all overnight accommodations; 9 meals; guided tour and attractions listed above; porterage of 1 piece of luggage; taxes and gratuities; and park admissions. CUBA: HISTORY & HEMINGWAYFall 2017

Why would we not offer this chance to bea part of history? As the world changesit’s a great time to explore a country thattime only seemed to forget —one that hascontinued to prosper in arts and music andlovely, sandy stretches of beach resorts.Current restrictions have been greatlyreduced, but still U.S. travel is limited to“educational” and “people-to-people” ex-changes which suits MKL Tours fine, as anelement of education in our travel plans hasalways been part of what sets us apart. There is no doubt Cuba is one of the mostcompelling travel destinations in the Carib-bean. So much history has happened hereover the course of hundreds of years anddue to political issues straining Cuba traveland tourism, much of the Cuban culture liesrelatively untouched by outside influence.Getting to know the authentic Cuba meanstaking the time to see smaller towns andvillages. It means getting to explore Cuba’sarchitecture, see Cuba’s beautiful parksand nature reserves, hear Cuba’s music and

spend time with the Cuban people. Manypeople outside of Cuba know only whatthey have read in history books, or seen ontelevision, but the true Cuban experience isone that is richer, broader, and deeper thanyou could possibly imagine. MKL Toursis investigating and interviewing agenciesalready having extensive experience inCuba, including both U.S. and Canadianagencies. We know, at minimum, elementsto be included will be: exploration of ErnstHemingway’s 20 years in Cuba with a visitto his home FINCA LA FIGIA and one ofhis favorite watering holes RESTAURATELA FLORIDIA; one-on-one meetings withlocal artists and musicians; guided tour ofOLD HAVANA’S historic area and the CU-BAN MUSEUM OF ARTS. We’ll explorethe UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITEOF BIOSPHERE in Vinales Valley Village;and a relaxing visit to one of the country’spremier resorts, PLAYA CAYO SANTAMARIA, with it’s elegant and airy accom-modations and sandy beaches.

As our specific itinerary is still underway,we wanted to give you a heads-up, and toask if you have interest in such a traveljewel that you give us a quick call, oremail us at [email protected]. Once tourdetails are available we will send out aspecial mailing and would love to includeyou among those getting first notice. Thistour offers a chance to be a part of history, sharing a new travel experience even themost experienced traveller never thoughtwould be available again. Editors Note:If you want to see a few of the sites we’llbe including, take yourself to see the firstU.S. movie made in Cuba in 50 years . . . “PAPA.” It’s beautifully filmed and agreat story — you won’t be disappointed.
