    1:1 Apocalypse of Jesus Christ[Apocalypse, or revelation, of Jesus Christ],which God gave to him to make open tohis servants, which things it behoovethto be made soon. And he signified,sending by his angel to his servant John,

    1:2 which bare witnessing to theword of God, and witnessing of JesusChrist, in these things, whatever thingshe saw.

    1:3 Blessed ishe that readeth, and hethat heareth the words of this prophecy,and keepeth those things that bewritten in it; for the time is nigh.

    1:4 John to the seven churches, thatbe in Asia, grace and peace to you, ofhim that is, and that was, and that is tocoming [grace to you, and peace, of him thatis, and that was, and that is to come]; and ofthe seven spirits, that be in the sight ofhis throne;

    1:5 and of Jesus Christ, that is afaithful witness, the first begotten ofdead men [the first begotten of dead], and

    Chapter 1

    1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ,which God gave unto him, to show untohis servants things which must shortlycome to pass; and he sent and signifieditby his angel unto his servant John:

    1:2 Who bare record of the word ofGod, and of the testimony of JesusChrist, and of all things that he saw.

    1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, andthey that hear the words of thisprophecy, and keep those things whichare written therein: for the time is athand.

    1:4 John to the seven churches whichare in Asia: Grace be unto you, andpeace, from him which is, and whichwas, and which is to come; and from theseven Spirits which are before histhrone;

    1:5 And from Jesus Christ,who isthefaithful witness,andthe first begotten ofthe dead, and the prince of the kings of

    prince of kings of the earth; which loved

    us, and washed us from our sins in hisblood,

    1:6 and made us a kingdom, andpriests to God and to his Father [andpriests to God and his Father]; to him beglory and empire into worlds of worlds.Amen.

    1:7 Lo! he cometh with clouds, andeach eye shall see him, and they that

    pricked him; and all the kindreds of theearth shall bewail themselves on him[and all kindreds, or lineages, of earth shall wail

    themselves on him]. Yea, Amen!

    1:8 I am alpha and omega, thebeginning and the end, saith the LordGod, that is, and that was, and that is tocoming, almighty. [I am alpha and omega,the beginning and ending, saith the Lord God,that is, and that was, and that is to come,

    almighty.]

    1:9 I, John [I John], your brother, andpartner in tribulation, and kingdom,and patience in Christ Jesus, was in anisle, that is called Patmos, for the wordof God, and for the witnessing of Jesus.

    1:10 I was in Spirit in the Lord's day,and I heard behind me a great voice, as

    of a trumpet, [I was in Spirit in the Sunday,and I heard after me a great voice, as of atrump,]

    1:11 saying to me, Write thou in abook that thing that thou seest [saying,That thing that thou seest, write in a book],and send to the seven churches that be

    the earth. Unto him that loved us, and

    washed us from our sins in his ownblood,

    1:6 And hath made us kings andpriests unto God and his Father; to him

    beglory and dominion for ever and ever.Amen.

    1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds;and every eye shall see him, and they

    alsowhich pierced him: and all kindredsof the earth shall wail because of him.Even so, Amen.

    1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, thebeginning and the ending, saith theLord, which is, and which was, andwhich is to come, the Almighty.

    1:9 I John, who also am yourbrother, and companion in tribulation,and in the kingdom and patience of

    Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is calledPatmos, for the word of God, and forthe testimony of Jesus Christ.

    1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord'sday, and heard behind me a great voice,

    in Asia; to Ephesus, [and] to Smyrna,

    and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, andto Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and toLaodicea.

    1:12 And I turned, that I should seethe voice that spake with me; and Iturned, and I saw seven candlesticks ofgold,

    1:13 and in the middle of the sevengolden candlesticks one like to the Son

    of man, clothed with a long garment,and girded at the teats with a goldengirdle.

    1:14 And the head of him and hishairs were white, as white wool, and assnow; and the eyes of him as flame offire,

    1:15 and his feet like to latten [and hisfeet like to dross of gold, or latten], as in a

    burning chimney; and the voice of himas the voice of many waters.

    1:16 And he had in his right handseven stars, and a sword sharp on ever-either side [and a sword sharp on both sides]went out of his mouth; and his face asthe sun shineth in his virtue.

    1:17 And when I had seen him, Ifelled down [I fell down] at his feet, as

    dead. And he putted his right hand onme, and said [+And he put his right handupon me, saying], Do not thou dread; Iam the first and the last;

    1:18 and I am alive, and I was dead;and lo! I am living into worlds ofworlds, and I have the keys of death and

    unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and

    unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, andunto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, andunto Laodicea.

    1:12 And I turned to see the voice thatspake with me. And being turned, Isaw seven golden candlesticks;

    1:13 And in the midst of the sevencandlesticks one like unto the Son of

    man, clothed with a garment down tothe foot, and girt about the paps with agolden girdle.

    1:14 His head andhishairswerewhitelike wool, as white as snow; and his eyes

    wereas a flame of fire;

    1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass,as if they burned in a furnace; and his

    voice as the sound of many waters.

    1:16 And he had in his right handseven stars: and out of his mouth went asharp twoedged sword: and hiscountenance was as the sun shineth inhis strength.

    1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at hisfeet as dead. And he laid his right hand

    upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; Iam the first and the last:

    1:18 I amhe that liveth, and was dead;and, behold, I am alive for evermore,Amen; and have the keys of hell and of

    1:19 Therefore write thou whichthings thou hast seen, and which be,and which it behooveth to be done afterthese things.

    1:20 The sacrament of the seven stars[They mystery of seven stars], which thousawest in my right hand, and the sevengolden candlesticks; the seven stars be[the] angels of the seven churches, and

    the seven candlesticks be [the] sevenchurches.

    Chapter 2

    2:1 And to the angel of the church ofEphesus write thou, These things saithhe, that holdeth the seven stars in hisright hand, which walketh [that walketh]in the middle of the seven goldencandlesticks.

    2:2 I know thy works, and thytravail, and thy patience, and that thoumayest not suffer evil men [and that thoumayest not sustain evil men]; and thou hastassayed them that say that they beapostles, and be not, and thou hastfound them liars;

    2:3 and thou hast patience, and thouhast suffered for my name [and thou hastsustained for my name], and failedest not.

    2:4 But I have against thee a fewthings, that thou hast left thy firstcharity.

    2:5 Therefore be thou mindful fromwhence thou hast fallen, and do

    death.

    1:19 Write the things which thou hastseen, and the things which are, and thethings which shall be hereafter;

    1:20 The mystery of the seven starswhich thou sawest in my right hand,and the seven golden candlesticks. Theseven stars are the angels of the sevenchurches: and the seven candlesticks

    which thou sawest are the sevenchurches.

    Chapter 2

    2:1 Unto the angel of the church ofEphesus write; These things saith hethat holdeth the seven stars in his righthand, who walketh in the midst of theseven golden candlesticks;

    2:2 I know thy works, and thylabour, and thy patience, and how thoucanst not bear them which are evil: andthou hast tried them which say they areapostles, and are not, and hast foundthem liars:

    2:3 And hast borne, and hastpatience, and for my name's sake hast

    laboured, and hast not fainted.

    2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhatagainst thee, because thou hast left thyfirst love.

    2:5 Remember therefore fromwhence thou art fallen, and repent, and

    penance, and do the first works; or else,

    I shall come soon to thee, and I shallmove thy candlestick from his place [ifnot, I shall come soon to thee, and shall movethy candlestick of his place], but thou dopenance.

    2:6 But thou hast this good thing,that thou hatedest [for thou hatest] thedeeds of Nicolaitanes, which also I hate.

    2:7 He that hath ears, hear he, what

    the Spirit saith to the churches. To himthat overcometh, I shall give to eat ofthe tree of life, that is in the paradise ofmy God.

    2:8 And to the angel of the church ofSmyrna write thou, These things saiththe first and the last, that was dead, andliveth.

    2:9 I know thy tribulation, and thy

    poverty, but thou art rich; and thou artblasphemed of them, that say, that theybe Jews, and be not, but be thesynagogue of Satan.

    2:10 Dread thou nothing of thesethings, which thou shalt suffer. Lo! thedevil shall send some of you into prison,that ye be tempted [that ye be proved];and ye shall have tribulation ten days.Be thou faithful to the death [Be thoufaithful unto the death], and I shall give tothee a crown of life.

    2:11 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches. He thatovercometh, shall not be hurt of thesecond death.

    2:8 And unto the angel of the churchin Smyrna write; These things saith thefirst and the last, which was dead, and isalive;

    2:9 I know thy works, and

    tribulation, and poverty, (but thou artrich) and I knowthe blasphemy of themwhich say they are Jews, and are not,butarethe synagogue of Satan.

    2:10 Fear none of those things whichthou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shallcastsomeof you into prison, that ye maybe tried; and ye shall have tribulationten days: be thou faithful unto death,and I will give thee a crown of life.

    2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches;He that overcometh shall not be hurt ofthe second death.

    2:12 And to the angel of the church of

    Pergamos write thou, These things saithhe, that hath the sword sharp on eitherside [that hath the sword sharp on each side].

    2:13 I know where thou dwellest,where the seat of Satan is; and thouholdest my name, and deniedest not myfaith. And in those days was Antipas,my faithful witness, that was slain atyou, where Satan dwelleth.

    2:14 But I have against thee a fewthings; for thou hast there men holdingthe teaching of Balaam, which taughtBalac to send cause of stumbling [to sendoffence]before the sons of Israel, to eat ofsacrifices of idols, and to do fornication;

    2:15 so also thou hast men holding theteaching of Nicolaitanes.

    2:16 Also do thou penance; if anything less [if not], I shall come soon tothee, and I shall fight with them withthe sword of my mouth.

    2:17 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches. To himthat overcometh I shall give angel meathid [To the overcoming, I shall give mannahid, or angel meat]; and I shall give to him awhite stone, and in the stone a newname written, which no man knoweth,but he that taketh.

    2:18 And to the angel of the churchof Thyatira write thou, These thingssaith the Son of God, that hath eyes as

    Pergamos write; These things saith hewhich hath the sharp sword with twoedges;

    2:13 I know thy works and wherethou dwellest,evenwhere Satan's seat is:and thou holdest fast my name, andhast not denied my faith, even in thosedays wherein Antipas was my faithfulmartyr, who was slain among you,where Satan dwelleth.

    2:14 But I have a few things againstthee, because thou hast there them thathold the doctrine of Balaam, whotaught Balac to cast a stumblingblockbefore the children of Israel, to eatthings sacrificed unto idols, and tocommit fornication.

    2:15 So hast thou also them that holdthe doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which

    thing I hate.

    2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches;To him that overcometh will I give toeat of the hidden manna, and will give

    him a white stone, and in the stone anew name written, which no manknoweth saving he that receiveth it.

    2:18 And unto the angel of the churchin Thyatira write; These things saith theSon of God, who hath his eyes like unto

    flame of fire, and his feet like latten [and

    his feet like to the dross of gold,either latten].

    2:19 I know thy works, and faith, andcharity, and thy service [and service], andthy patience, and thy last works morethan the former.

    2:20 But I have against thee a fewthings; for thou sufferest the woman

    Jezebel, which saith that she is aprophetess [the which saith herself for to be a

    prophetess], to teach and deceive myservants, to do lechery, and to eat ofthings offered to idols.

    2:21 And I gave to her time, that sheshould do penance [And I gave to her time,for to do penance], and she would not dopenance of her fornication.

    2:22 And lo! [Lo!] I send her into abed, and they that do lechery with her

    shall be in most tribulation, but they dopenance of her works [but they do penanceof their works].

    2:23 And I shall slay her sons intodeath [And I shall slay her sons in death],and all churches shall know, that I amsearching reins and hearts; and I shallgive to each man of you after his works.

    2:24 And I say to you, and to others

    that be at Thyatira, whoever have notthis teaching, and that knew not thehighness of Satan, how they say, I shallnot send on [upon] you another charge;

    2:25 nevertheless hold ye that that yehave, till I come. [nevertheless that that ye

    a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine

    brass;

    2:19 I know thy works, and charity,and service, and faith, and thy patience,and thy works; and the last to be morethan the first.

    2:20 Notwithstanding I have a fewthings against thee, because thousufferest that woman Jezebel, whichcalleth herself a prophetess, to teach and

    to seduce my servants to commitfornication, and to eat things sacrificedunto idols.

    2:21 And I gave her space to repent ofher fornication; and she repented not.

    2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed,and them that commit adultery with

    her into great tribulation, except theyrepent of their deeds.

    2:23 And I will kill her children withdeath; and all the churches shall knowthat I am he which searcheth the reinsand hearts: and I will give unto everyone of you according to your works.

    2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the

    rest in Thyatira, as many as have notthis doctrine, and which have notknown the depths of Satan, as theyspeak; I will put upon you none otherburden.

    2:25 But that which ye have alreadyhold fast till I come.

    have, holdeth till I come.]

    2:26 And to him that shall overcome,and that shall keep till into the end myworks, I shall give power on folks, [Andto him that shall overcome, and shall keep tillinto the end my works, I shall give to him

    power upon folks,]

    2:27 and he shall govern them in aniron rod; and they shall be brokentogether, as a vessel of a potter, as also I

    received of my Father;

    2:28 and I shall give to him a morrowstar. [and I shall give to him a morn star.]

    2:29 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches.

    Chapter 3

    3:1 And to the angel of the church of

    Sardis write thou, These things saith he,that hath the seven spirits of God, andthe seven stars. I know thy works, forthou hast a name, that thou livest, andthou art dead.

    3:2 Be thou waking, and confirmthou other things, that were to dying[and confirm other things, that were to die];for I find not thy works full before myGod.

    3:3 Therefore have thou in mind,how thou receivedest, and heardest; andkeep, and do penance. Therefore if thouwake not, I shall come as a night thiefto thee [Therefore if thou shalt not wake, Ishall come to thee as a night thief], and thoushalt not know in what hour I shall

    2:26 And he that overcometh, andkeepeth my works unto the end, to himwill I give power over the nations:

    2:27 And he shall rule them with arod of iron; as the vessels of a pottershall they be broken to shivers: even as I

    received of my Father.

    2:28 And I will give him the morningstar.

    2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    Chapter 3

    3:1 And unto the angel of the church

    in Sardis write; These things saith hethat hath the seven Spirits of God, andthe seven stars; I know thy works, thatthou hast a name that thou livest, andart dead.

    3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen thethings which remain, that are ready todie: for I have not found thy worksperfect before God.

    3:3 Remember therefore how thouhast received and heard, and hold fast,and repent. If therefore thou shalt notwatch, I will come on thee as a thief,and thou shalt not know what hour Iwill come upon thee.

    come to thee.

    3:4 But thou hast a few names inSardis, which have not defouled theirclothes; and they shall walk with me inwhite clothes, for they be worthy.

    3:5 He that overcometh, shall beclothed thus with white clothes; and Ishall not do away his name from thebook of life [and I shall not do away hisname of the book of life], and I shall

    acknowledge his name before myFather, and before his angels.

    3:6 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches.

    3:7 And to the angel of the church ofPhiladelphia write thou, These thingssaith the holy and true, that hath thekey of David; which openeth, and noman closeth, he closeth, and no man

    openeth [+that openeth, and no man closeth,closeth, and no man openeth].

    3:8 I know thy works, and lo! I gavebefore thee a door opened, which noman may close [+and lo! I have before thee adoor opened, that no man may close]; forthou hast a little virtue, and hast keptmy word, and deniedest not my name.

    3:9 Lo! I shall give to thee of the

    synagogue of Satan, which say that theybe Jews, and be not, but lie. Lo! I shallmake them, that they come, andworship before thy feet; and they shallknow, that I loved thee,

    3:10 for thou keptest the word of mypatience. And I shall keep thee from

    3:4 Thou hast a few names even inSardis which have not defiled theirgarments; and they shall walk with mein white: for they are worthy.

    3:5 He that overcometh, the sameshall be clothed in white raiment; and Iwill not blot out his name out of thebook of life, but I will confess his namebefore my Father, and before his angels.

    3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    3:7 And to the angel of the church inPhiladelphia write; These things saithhe that is holy, he that is true, he thathath the key of David, he that openeth,and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and

    no man openeth;

    3:8 I know thy works: behold, I haveset before thee an open door, and noman can shut it: for thou hast a littlestrength, and hast kept my word, andhast not denied my name.

    3:9 Behold, I will make them of the

    synagogue of Satan, which say they areJews, and are not, but do lie; behold, Iwill make them to come and worshipbefore thy feet, and to know that I haveloved thee.

    3:10 Because thou hast kept the wordof my patience, I also will keep thee

    the hour of temptation, that is to

    coming [that is to come] into all theworld, to tempt men that dwell inearth.

    3:11 Lo! I come soon; hold thou thatthat thou hast [hold that that thou hast],that no man take thy crown.

    3:12 And him that shall overcome, Ishall make a pillar in the temple of myGod, and he shall no more go out; and I

    shall write on [upon] him the name ofmy God, and the name of the city of myGod, of the new Jerusalem, that comethdown from heaven of my God, and mynew name.

    3:13 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches.

    3:14 And to the angel of the church ofLaodicea write thou, These things saith

    Amen, the faithful witness and true,which is beginning of God's creature[that is the beginning of Gods creature].

    3:15 I know thy works, for neitherthou art cold, neither thou art hot; Iwould that thou were cold, either hot; [Iknow thy works, for neither thou art cold, nor

    hot; I would thou were cold, or hot;]

    3:16 but for thou art lukewarm, and

    neither cold, neither hot, I shall begin tocast thee out of my mouth. [but for thouart lukewarm, and neither cold, nor hot, I shall

    begin for to vomit thee out of my mouth.]

    3:17 For thou sayest, That I am rich,and full of goods, and have need ofnothing; and thou knowest not, that

    from the hour of temptation, which

    shall come upon all the world, to trythem that dwell upon the earth.

    3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold thatfast which thou hast, that no man takethy crown.

    3:12 Him that overcometh will I makea pillar in the temple of my God, and heshall go no more out: and I will write

    upon him the name of my God, and thename of the city of my God, which isnew Jerusalem, which cometh down outof heaven from my God: andI will write

    upon him my new name.

    3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    3:14 And unto the angel of the churchof the Laodiceans write; These things

    saith the Amen, the faithful and truewitness, the beginning of the creation ofGod;

    3:15 I know thy works, that thou artneither cold nor hot: I would thou wertcold or hot.

    3:16 So then because thou art

    lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, Iwill spue thee out of my mouth.

    3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich,and increased with goods, and haveneed of nothing; and knowest not that

    thou art a wretch, and wretchful [for

    thou art a wretch, and wretched], and poor,and blind, and naked.

    3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me burntgold, and proved, that thou be maderich, and be clothed with white clothes,that the confusion of thy nakedness benot seen; and anoint thine eyes with acollyrium, that thou see. [+I counsel thee,to buy of me gold fired, and proved, that thoube made rich, and be clothed with white

    clothes, that the confusion, orshame, of thynakedness appear not; and anoint thine eyeswith a collyrium,that is, a medicine for eyes, made

    of diverse herbs, that thou see.]

    3:19 I reprove, and chastise whom Ilove; therefore follow thougood men, anddo penance. [I whom I love, reprove andchastise; love thou therefore, and do penance.]

    3:20 Lo! I stand at the door, and

    knock; if any man heareth my voice,and openeth the gate to me [if any manshall hear my voice, and open the gate], Ishall enter to him, and sup with him,and he with me.

    3:21 And I shall give to him that shallovercome, to sit with me in my throne,as also I overcame, and sat with myFather in his throne.

    3:22 He that hath ears, hear he, whatthe Spirit saith to the churches.

    Chapter 4

    4:1 After these things I saw, and lo! adoor was opened in heaven. And thefirst voice that I heard, was as of a

    poor, and blind, and naked:

    3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me goldtried in the fire, that thou mayest berich; and white raiment, that thoumayest be clothed, and that the shameof thy nakedness do not appear; andanoint thine eyes with eyesalve, thatthou mayest see.

    3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke andchasten: be zealous therefore, andrepent.

    3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and

    knock: if any man hear my voice, andopen the door, I will come in to him,and will sup with him, and he with me.

    3:21 To him that overcometh will Igrant to sit with me in my throne, evenas I also overcame, and am set downwith my Father in his throne.

    3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hearwhat the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    Chapter 4

    4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, adoorwasopened in heaven: and the firstvoice which I heard was as it were of a

    trumpet speaking with me, and said,

    Ascend thou up hither [And the first voicethat I heard, wasas of a trump speaking with

    me, saying, Ascend up hither], and I shallshow to thee which things it behoovethto be done soon after these things.

    4:2 And at once [And anon] I was inSpirit, and lo! a seat was set in heaven,and upon the seat onesitting [and on theseat onesitting].

    4:3 And he that sat, was like [to]thesight of a stone jasper, and to sardine;and a rainbow was in [the] compass ofthe seat, like [to] the sight of emerald[like to the sight of smaragdus].

    4:4 And in the compass of the seatwere four and twenty small seats; andabove the thrones four and twenty eldermen sitting, covered about with whiteclothes [And in compass of the seat werefour

    and twenty small seats; and upon the thronesfour and twenty elders sitting, girded about

    with white clothes], and in the heads ofthem golden crowns.

    4:5 And lightnings, and voices, andthunderings came out of the throne; andseven lamps burning before the throne,which be the seven spirits of God.

    4:6 And before the seat as a sea ofglass, like [to]crystal, and in the middleof the seat, and in the compass [and incompass] of the seat, [were] four beastsfull of eyes before and behind.

    4:7 And the first beast like a lion;and the second beast like a calf; and the

    trumpet talking with me; which said,

    Come up hither, and I will show theethings which must be hereafter.

    4:2 And immediately I was in thespirit; and, behold, a throne was set inheaven, and onesat on the throne.

    4:3 And he that sat was to look uponlike a jasper and a sardine stone: and

    there was a rainbow round about thethrone, in sight like unto an emerald.

    7:16 They shall hunger no more,neither thirst any more; neither shall thesun light on them, nor any heat.

    the day shone not for a third part of it,and the night likewise.

    8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angelflying through the midst of heaven,saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe,woe, to the inhabiters of the earth byreason of the other voices of the trumpetof the three angels, which are yet to

    9:4 And it was commanded to them,that they should not hurt the grass ofthe earth, neither any green thing,neither any tree, but only men, thathave not the sign of God [that have notthe mark of God]in their foreheads.

    9:5 And it was given to them, thatthey should not slay them, but that theyshould be tormented five months; andthe tormenting of them, as thetormenting of a scorpion, when hesmiteth a man.

    9:8 And they had hairs, as the hairsof women; and the teeth of them were

    as the teeth of lions.

    9:9 And they had habergeons, as ironhabergeons, and the voice of their wingsas the voice of chariots of many horsesrunning to battle.

    9:3 And there came out of the smoke

    locusts upon the earth: and unto themwas given power, as the scorpions of theearth have power.

    heads of the horses were as [the]heads

    of lions; and fire, and smoke, andbrimstone, cometh forth of the mouthof them [and of the mouth of them fire cameforth, and smoke and brimstone].

    9:18 Of these three plagues the thirdpart of men was slain, of the fire, and ofthe smoke, and of the brimstone, thatcame out of the mouth of them.

    9:19 For the power of the horses is in

    the mouth of them, and in the tails ofthem; for the tails of them be like toserpents, having heads, and in themthey harm.

    9:20 And the other men, that werenot slain in these plagues, neither didpenance of the works of their hands,that they worshipped not devils, andsimulacra of gold, and of silver [andsilver], and of brass, and of stone [and

    10:1 And I saw another strong angelcoming down from heaven, clothed witha cloud, and the rainbow on his head;and the face of him was as the sun, andthe feet of him as a pillar of fire.

    10:2 And he had in his hand a little

    the horseswereas the heads of lions; and

    out of their mouths issued fire andsmoke and brimstone.

    9:18 By these three was the third partof men killed, by the fire, and by thesmoke, and by the brimstone, whichissued out of their mouths.

    9:19 For their power is in their mouth,

    and in their tails: for their tails werelikeunto serpents, and had heads, and withthem they do hurt.

    9:20 And the rest of the men whichwere not killed by these plagues yetrepented not of the works of theirhands, that they should not worshipdevils, and idols of gold, and silver, andbrass, and stone, and of wood: which

    neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

    9:21 Neither repented they of theirmurders, nor of their sorceries, nor oftheir fornication, nor of their thefts.

    11:4 These be two olives, and twocandlesticks, and they stand in the sight

    said unto him, Give me the little book.And he said unto me, Take it, and eat itup; and it shall make thy belly bitter,but it shall be in thy mouth sweet ashoney.

    10:10 And I took the little book out ofthe angel's hand, and ate it up; and itwas in my mouth sweet as honey: and assoon as I had eaten it, my belly wasbitter.

    11:5 And if any man will harm them,fire shall go out of the mouth of them,and shall devour their enemies. And ifany [man] will hurt them, thus itbehooveth him to be slain.

    11:6 These have power to close heaven[These have power to shut heaven], that itrain not in the days of their prophecy;

    and they have power on [upon] waters,to turn them into blood; and to smitethe earth with every plague [and to smitethe earth with all plague,either vengeance], andas oft as they will.

    11:7 And when they shall end theirwitnessing, the beast that ascendeth upfrom deepness [the beast that ascendeth upof the deepness], shall make battle againstthem, and shall overcome them, and

    shall slay them [and slay them].

    11:8 And the bodies of them shall liein the streets of the great city, that iscalled ghostly Sodom, and Egypt, wherethe Lord of them was crucified.

    11:9 And some of the lineages, and ofpeoples, and of languages [and tongues],and of heathen men, shall see the bodiesof them by three days and an half; and

    they shall not suffer the bodies of themto be put in burials.

    11:10 And men inhabiting the earthshall have joy on [upon]them; and theyshall make merry, and shall send giftstogether, for these two prophetstormented them that dwell on the earth.

    13:6 And he opened his mouth inblasphemy against God, to blasphemehis name, and his tabernacle, and themthat dwell in heaven.

    the earth, in the sight of all men.

    13:14 And it deceiveth men, that dwellin the earth, for signs which be given toit [And deceiveth men dwelling in earth, forsigns which be given to him] to do in thesight of the beast; saying to men thatdwell in earth, that they make an imageof the beast, that hath the wound of [a]sword, and lived.

    13:15 And it was given to him, that heshould give [a]spirit to the image of thebeast, and that the image of the beastspeak. And he shall make, that whoeverhonour not the image of the beast [thatwhoever shall not honour the image of thebeast], be slain.

    13:16 And he shall make all, small andgreat, rich and poor, free men andbondmen, to have a character, either

    mark, in their right hand, either in theirforeheads [or in their foreheads];

    13:18 Here is wisdom; he that hath

    Chapter 14

    14:1 And I saw, and lo! a lamb stood

    that he maketh fire come down from

    heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

    13:14 And deceiveth them that dwellon the earth by the means of thosemiracles which he had power to do inthe sight of the beast; saying to themthat dwell on the earth, that theyshould make an image to the beast,which had the wound by a sword, anddid live.

    13:15 And he had power to give lifeunto the image of the beast, that theimage of the beast should both speak,and cause that as many as would notworship the image of the beast shouldbe killed.

    13:16 And he causeth all, both smalland great, rich and poor, free and bond,to receive a mark in their right hand, or

    in their foreheads:

    13:17 And that no man might buy orsell, save he that had the mark, or thename of the beast, or the number of hisname.

    hundred thousand and four and fortythousand [And I saw, and lo! the lamb stoodon the mount Sion, and with him an hundredand four and forty thousand], having hisname, and the name of his Fatherwritten in their foreheads.

    14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven,as the voice of many waters, and as thevoice of a great thunder; and the voicewhich I heard, was as of many harpers

    harping in their harps [and the voice whichI heard, as of harpers harping in their harps].

    14:3 And they sung as a new songbefore the seat of God, and before thefour beasts, and the elder men [and theseniors]. And no man might say thesong, but those hundred thousand andfour and forty thousand [no but they anhundred and four and forty thousand], thatbe bought from the earth.

    14:4 These it be, that be not defouledwith women; for they be virgins. Thesefollow the lamb, whither ever he shallgo; these be bought of all men, the firstfruits to God, and to the lamb;

    before the throne of God.

    14:6 And I saw another angel, flyingby the middle of heaven, having aneverlasting gospel [having the everlastinggospel], that he should preach to mensitting on the earth, and on each folk[and upon all folk], and lineage, and

    stood on the mount Sion, and with him

    an hundred forty and four thousand,having his Father's name written intheir foreheads.

    14:7 and said [saying] with a greatvoice, Dread ye the Lord, and give ye tohim honour, for the hour of his doomcometh; and worship ye him, that madeheaven and earth, the sea, and all thingsthat be in them, and the wells of waters.

    14:8 And another angel followed,saying, That great [city] Babylon felldown, fell down, which gave drink to all

    folks of the wine of [the] wrath of herfornication.

    14:9 And the third angel followedthem, and said [saying] with a greatvoice, If any man worship the beast, andthe image of it, and taketh the characterin his forehead, either in his hand [andtake the character in his forehand, or in his

    14:10 this shall drink of the wine ofGod's wrath, that is mingledwith clearwine in the cup of his wrath, and [he]shall be tormented with fire andbrimstone, in the sight of [the] holyangels, and before the sight of the lamb.
