~Our Mission Statement~The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because the Lord has anointed us

to proclaim: Ecce Agnus Dei! Behold the Lamb of God!Behold the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Divine MercyDivine Mercy: The Easter Gift"Fear not, I am the first and the last, and

the living one; I died, and behold I am alivefor evermore."(Rev 1:17-18)

We hear these comforting words in the Bookof Revelation. They invite us to turn our gazeto Christ, to experience His reassuring pres-ence. To each person, whatever his/her condi-tion, even if it were the most complicated anddramatic, the Risen One repeats: "Fear not!; Idied on the Cross but now I am alive forevermore"; "I am the first and the last, andthe living one".

In the Messiah, crucified and risen, werecognize the features of the Lamb sacrificedon Golgotha, who implores forgiveness for Historturers and opens the gates of heaven torepentant sinners; we glimpse the face of theimmortal King who now has "the keys of Death

    and Hades".(Rev 1:18)

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever! (Ps 117:1)Let us make our own the Psalmist's exclamation which we sang in the Responsorial Psalm:"The Lord's mercy endures forever!".This miracle of mercy has radically changed human-ity's destiny. It is a miracle in which is unfolded the fullness of the love of the Father who, forour redemption, does not even draw back before the sacrifice of His Only-begotten Son.

In the humiliated and suffering Christ, believers and non-believers can admire a surprisingsolidarity, which binds Him to our human condition beyond all imaginable measure. The Cross, even after the Resurrection of the Son of God, "speaks and never ceases to speak Page 2

Worldwide Marriage EncounterToday is Divine Mercy Sundayand we are reminded of the in-credible mercy and love of God.Let the grace of God flowdeeply and abundantly in your

marriage relationship. Attendthe next Worldwide MarriageEncounter Weekend on April20-22, 2012.Contact Tim and Pat Doyle,630-577-0078. For more infor-mation visit our website at:wwmejoliet.org.

of God the Father, who is absolutely faithful to His

eternal love for us.... Believing in this love meansbelieving in mercy". (Rich in Mercy, 7)

Let us thank the Lord for His love, which is stronger thandeath and sin. It is revealed and put into practice as mercyin our daily lives, and prompts every person in turn to have"mercy" towards the Crucified One. Is not loving God andloving one's neighbor and even one's "enemies," after Jesus'example, the program of life of every baptized person andof the whole Church?

Jesus said to Sr. Faustina one day: "Humankind will nothave peace until it turns with trust to My mercy"(Diary, 300).

DIVINE MERCY!This is the Easter gift that the Church receives from the

risen Christ and offers to humanity. The Gospel, which has

just been proclaimed, helps us to grasp the full sense andvalue of this gift. .We share in the emotion felt by theApostles in their meeting with Christ after His Resurrection. Our attention focuses on the gesture of the Master, whotransmits to the fearful, astounded disciples the mission ofbeing ministers of Divine Mercy. He shows them His handsand His side, which bear the marks of the Passion, and tellsthem: "As the Father has sent Me, even so I send you".

(Jn 20:21) Immediately afterwards, "He breathed on them, and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. Ifyouforgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you

retain the sins of any, they are retained'". (Jn 20:22-23)Jesus entrusted to them the gift of "forgiving sins", agift that flows from the wounds in His hands, His feet, andespecially from His pierced side. From there a wave ofmercy is poured out over all humanity.

Today the Lord also shows us His glorious wounds and HisHeart, an inexhaustible source of light and truth, of love

and forgiveness. The Heart of Christ! His "Sacred Heart"has given us everything: redemption, salvation, sanctification, overflowing with generous love... two rays of light which illu-

minated the world. Through the mystery of this woundedHeart, God's merciful love continues to spread over the menand women of our time. Here alone can those who long fortrue and lasting happiness find its secret.

    "Jesus, I Trust in You!"

A Plenary Indulgence may be gained of one prays the DIVINEMERCY NOVENA, ...is in Church for prayers and Adoration onDivine Mercy Sunday and goes to the SACRAMENT OF RECON-CILIATION within 20 days of after Divine Mercy Sunday.

Bulletin BitsTo question and doubt is okay, aslong as we do not stay in such astate. By persisting in faith andseeking the truth, we can resolveour doubts and grow in our spiri-tuality. If we look through the lensof faith, we can come to deeperand clearer understanding of thetruth, and open ourselves toGods grace to help us live as Hisstewards and see his goodness.

Spiritual Adoption Program, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Fr. McGivneyMONTH SIX Developing Baby

Your spiritually adopted baby is developing quite beautifully now. Her weight is approaching 2 pounds. Babies born pre-maturely at this time have a very good chance of surviving. The medical advances in caring for ex-tremely small newborn infants are extraordinary indeed. Justice OConnor has remarked that the Roevs. Wade decision is on a collision course with itself. Each passing year, we witness medical advancesthat allow medical professionals to save younger and younger premature infants.

Pray for all physicians, midwives and nurses that they may recognize the sanctity of life and God as the author of l ife.
