Dear Brothers in Christ :

How are we doing during this Lenten journey? Have we seriously focused on our lives and where we want to improve? Personally, this Lent I plan to pick two areas of my life, the spiritual and personal. I've decided to start exercising an hour of each day. The first day was not easy, since I've noticed that my physical condition is out of shape. This led me to reflect on my spiritual life and the discipline I need to strengthen it.

This Second Week of Lent we celebrate the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor. Jesus rises atop the mountain to pray and leads his faithful disciples, John, Peter and James. During these weeks of Lent I’ve decided to come up the mountain with Jesus , it’s very high and it takes strength and determination, I lack condition and perseverance. Where do I find myself with Jesus on my trek up the Montana? Am I at the beginning of the climb, Am I half up the mountain or have I climbed to the cumber with Jesus? It is difficult to reach the goal of the summit, but Jesus is with me and He will give me strength to share his transfiguration.

Today, Christ transfigures in front of his disciples, but differently, his face no longer shines like the sun, but is hidden under the features of the faces, sad and tired by sin, Christ always wants to share his transfiguration with us in the Eucharist , to experience his glory and peace, which the apostles lived. How many come to church on Sunday with sad, tired faces and walk out the same, by the weight of our sins and worries. Christ wants to share his glory with you and with me in the sacraments, the sacrament of reconciliation and especially in the Holy Eucharist. This Lent we have to live with joy and to meet Jesus in the hope and security that accompanies us in our lives to climb the Mountain of our daily pilgrimage!

Queridos hermanos en Cristo:

Como estan llevando estos dias de cuaresma? Hemos tomado en serio alguna area en nuestra vida en la que queremos mejorar? En esta cuaresma me he propuesto retomar dos areas de mi vida; la vida espiri-tual y la personal. Me he decidido empesar a tomar una hora de ejer-cicio cada dia. Los primeros dias no an sido faciles, ya que me he dado cuenta que mi condicion fisica esta muy mal. Esto me a llevado a re-flecionar en mi vida espiritual que tambien necesito fortalecimiento y diciplina.

Esta Segunda Semana de Cuaresma celebramos la Transfiguracion de Jesus en el monte Tabor. Jesus sube a la cima del monte a orar y se lleva a sus fieles discipulos, Juan, Pedro y Santiago. En estas semanas de cuaresma he decidido subir con Jesus a la Montana, se que es muy alta y se necesita de fuerza y decicion, me falta condicion y perseveran-cia. En que lugar me encuentro con Jesus al subir la Montana? Estoy al iniciar la subida, me encuentro a la mitad de la montana o he subido hasta la cumbre con Jesus? Se que es dificil llegar hasta la meta de la cumbre, pero Jesus esta conmigo y el me dara fuerzas para compartir su trasfiguracion.

Hoy en dia, Cristo sigue trasfigurandose delante de sus discipulos, pero al reves, es decir su rostro ya no resplandece como el sol, sino que se oculta bajo las facciones de los rostros, tristes, cansados por el pecado, cada ves Cristo quiere compartir su trasfiguracion con nosotros en la Eucaristia, para experimentar su Gloria y paz, que los apostoles vivieron. Cuantos entramos a la iglesia los Domingos con rostros tristes y cansado y salimos quiza igual, por el peso de nuestras culpas y preocupaciones. Cristo quiere compartir su Gloria contigo y conmigo en los sacramentos, en el sacramento de la reconciliacion y en espe-cialmente en la Santa Eucaristia. Esta Cuaresma la tenemos que vivir con alegria y poder encontrarnos con Jesus en la esperanza y seguridad que nos acompana en nuestra vida al subir la Montana de nuestra pere-grinacion cotidiana!
