PRODUCTION AND RESERVESTecpetrol strives for continuous improvement in the services it provides to Pemex, both in the production of oil and gas and in the maintenance of pipelines.

Northwest basinThe wells in the Aguaragüe field in the province of Salta are among the deepest and most complex to be found in Argentina, reaching 17,060 ft. (5,200 m.). Advanced technologies, such as multilateral wells, have been used to boost production.

Neuquina basinThe combined output of the Los Bastos (Neuquén) and Agua Salada (Río Negro) fields reaches a total of 3 thousand bbl/d of oil and 42 million scf/d of gas. In Fortín de Piedra, Tecpetrol is currently drilling to develop unconventional resources lying in the Vaca Muerta formation. San Jorge Gulf basinTecpetrol operates the fields of El Tordillo, La Tapera, Puesto Quiroga,Estancia La Mariposa and José Segundo. The company is running over 800 wells with an oil output of 16 thousand bbl/d. The development of these mature fields requires secondary and tertiary recovery projects to be in place for many years, involving the injection of 245 thousand bbl/d of water in 240 wells.

Transportation and distributionThe company owns a stake in the distribution company Litoral Gas and in the gas carriage service companies TGN and TGM, which together operate a total of 5,000 mi. (8,000 km.) of pipelines and 20 compression plants in the country.

Burgos and Chicontepec basins

BURGOS: At the Misión block, Tecpetrol provides Pemex with a full range of services, achieving a significant increase in production and reserves. CHICONTEPEC: Tecpetrol is undertaking a pilot project for Pemex at the Coyotes field involving the application of best operating practices and technology. This includes drilling multi-fractured horizontal wells to develop a field with very low permeability (unconventional tight resources).

System 3The company services, maintains and ensures the integrity and reliability of the system, covering 800 mi. (1,300 km.) of pipelines, 45 rights of way and 73 measurement points in the states of Tabasco, Chiapas and Campeche. Integrity indicators have also improved considerably: as regards cathode protection, the systems in operation have reached 98% (versus 49%) and the number of pipeline kilometers is also 98% up to standard. Tecpetrol has also managed to reduce risk levels by 40%. (this refers to kilometers of pipeline at high risk).

Pesquería Thermoelectric power plantTogether with Ternium and Tenaris, Tecpetrol is developing a project to build and operate a combined cycle thermoelectric power plant fueled by natural gas in Monterrey. With 900 MW of power and an investment in the region of one billion dollars, it is scheduled to begin operating in the second half of 2016.

Tecpetrol

ECUADOR Eastern basinTecpetrol is an active player in the Ecuadorian oil market. The fields where it participates represent some 25% of Ecuador’s total hydro-carbons output.

BERMEJO: In 1999, Tecpetrol began operating the Bermejo block in Sucumbios. Thanks to its experience in mature field development, it achieved an increase in production from 4 to 9 thousand bbl/d.SHUSHUFINDI AND LIBERTADOR: By 2012, Tecpetrol was ready to provide services to Petroamazonas in the Shushufindi field (as partner with a 25% stake) and the Libertador field (as majority stakeholder with 40%). Output from both fields is 95 thousand bbl/d, with an increase in production of some 50 thousand bbl/d since the award of the projects. EDEN YUTURI, PAÑACOCHA AND TUMALI: In 2014 Tecpetrol expanded its presence in the country with Petroamazonas’ award of the three fields making up Group I. The company has a 40% stake in the consortium ledby Schlumberger.

EASTERN BASIN

PRODUCTION ON THE RISE Tecpetrol’s stated goal is to increase the production and development of the mature !elds awarded by Petroamazonas in the Eastern basin.

TecpetrolTecpetrol

COLOMBIAPERU Tecpetrol first set foot in Colombia in 2009 to carry out exploration in blocks CPO6, CPO7 and CPO13, in the Eastern Plains (Llanos Orientales).

The company undertook some 3,000 km of seismic surveys in an area of 650,000 ha., one of the largest surveys ever undertaken in the country, and subsequently drilled 16 exploratory wells. This led to the discovery of the Atarraya, Pendare and Puerto Gaitán fields which are now in production. There are a further 20 projects planned and forecast to yield exploratory resources of between 80 and 350 million barrels of oil.

Block CPO13 lies in the south of the Rubiales and Quifa fields, a favorable location as its neighbors are two of the most productive fields in Colombia. Tecpetrol is set to drill eight exploration and two development wells.

Ucayali basinBLOCKS 88 AND 56: Tecpetrol has a 10% stake in the Camisea consortium, licensed to operate the blocks as well as produce and process natural gas and associated fluids at the Malvinas and Pisco plants. Lots 88 and 56 lie in the lower reaches of the Urubamba river valley and produce 95 thousand bbl/d of oil and 1,700 million scf/d of gas. Despite considerable logistical, social and environmental difficulties, the consortium is pursuing a major exploration plan to increase gas and condensate reserves and expand production.BLOCK 174: Tecpetrol is carrying out exploration activities in block 174, lying in the heart of the rainforest, central Peru. The operation is highly complex in logistics terms.

Pipeline transportation systemTecpetrol was responsible for building and running a pipeline project of critical importance for the country’s supply of energy. For over 14 years, it headed up the TgP consortium, operating and maintaining this vital pipeline. The Camisea Transportation System carries natural gas from Malvinas to Lima and natural gas liquids from Malvinas to the south of Pisco, across 450 mi. (730 km.) of rainforest, mountains and coastline.
