Overall purpose of this series on Marketplace

To understand and learn from various marketplace facts so that you can: • Be more effective and anointed wherever you are in the marketplace.

• Adapt and benchmark your marketplace practices and principles discussed in this series.

• Use these material to facilitate the work of evangelism.



Train a child• Proverbs 22:6:

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.



Train a child

• Solomon spoke of the responsibility of the father to teach and train his sons: My son, pay attention to my wisdom, listen well to my words of insight, that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge. (Prov. 5:1,2)



Helpful ideas in teaching and training your children

1. Your primary duty as a parent is to develop your

children’s spiritual well-being.




2. Listen to them when

they talk – all evening if

that’s what they want.




3. Teach them the value of wisdom.




4. When they confounded by a serious problem, encourage them to ask God for help in

solving it.




5. Remind them to be on time. The world does not operate on teenage time.




6. Teach them that the world will judge them by his actions,

not his intentions.




7. If you go on a business trip, call them. They will miss you.




8. Show them how to clean there room. Little children

don’t just learn this by osmosis.




9. Don’t let them quit out of frustration. They won’t learn

anything.




10. Teach them to respect authority, but not be in awe of

it.




11. Teach them there’s no harm in failure, but in the failure to

try.




12. Teach them to stand up straight.




13. Monitor the movies and T. V. they watches. This may mean you have to monitor what you

watch too.




14. Don’t hold a grudge against him.




15. Give your children an allowance based on his age and

the chores he performs. Realize they’ll

always want more.




16. Teach them to treat each day as holy.




17. Give them responsibility. It separates boys from men and

daughters from women.




18. Remind them that school isn’t a place for self-

expression. It is a place for learning.




Number 1 again: Remember, your primary duty as a parent is

to develop your children’s spiritual well-being.



Keep in mindThat the power of your example

is your greatest means of teaching: My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to

my ways. (Prov. 23:26)



Prayer Focus• Father, In the name of Jesus, I

surrender myself to walk in the Word in the marketplace. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world.

• The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me.

• I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God! Amen

• “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

• Do what it says. • Anyone who listens to the word but does not do

what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

• But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.” (NIV)
