BELECTRIC‘s 3.0 MegaWattBlock sets new stan-
dards in solar power production. On a par with
the functionality of large conventional power
plants, our grid-stabilizing power plant techno-
logy makes it possible to intelligently integrate
renewable energy sources in existing power grids.
This power generation unit focuses on standar-
dization, optimization and grid integration and is
therefore a product that perfectly matches our
customer’s demands and the world’s energy needs.
Our standardized modular design concept was
formed with a simple goal in mind: to create a solar
power plant, that delivers power at the lowest
possible levelized cost of electricity. Designed with
the focus on saving resources, a fast construction
and reliable operation, our latest unit delivers an
optimum cost-benefit ratio.
The new power plant unit operates at a system
voltage of 1,500VDC thereby enabling further
reductions to system and maintenance costs. In
addition to system efficiency, the 3.0 MegaWatt-
Block also sets new standards in terms of reliabi-
lity. The inverters of the Power Conditioning Unit
achieve a staggering availability rate, controlled
and monitored by BELECTRIC‘s Real-time Manage-
ment system. Low raw material consumption,
industry-leading quality and extraordinary space
efficiency make our new 3.0 MegaWattBlock the
global benchmark in solar power generation.

Module technology
The 3.0 MegaWattBlock is designed for thin-film module technology from
First Solar, which ensures stable performance even at low light and especially
under hot climate conditions for an operational lifetime of more than 25
years. The self-cleaning frameless module design also reduces soiling losses.
Substructure
The precise alignment of the Triple Support substructure makes it possible
for each pv module to be exposed equally to light. Superior space efficiency
reduces the land consumption significantly. We only use the highest quality,
heavy industrial grade components, to guarantee long durability.
Power Conditioning Unit (PCU)
The specially developed PCU SKID System includes two ProSolar
Inverters from GE Power Conversion and a transformer station.
The inverter system is optimized for the use of thin-film module
technologies and is characterized by the high level of system efficiency.
The built-in PID protection device reduces the module degradation effect.
A typical public grid shows many voltage deviations produced by different
power loads. The dynamic reactive power capability of the PCU stabilizes
the public grid voltage - day and night.
Power Plant Controller (PPC)
The intelligent control unit monitors grid access points and regulates the electrical
current flow of the solar power plant. It is also responsible for managing and optimizing
the interaction of solar power with gas power and energy storage. Voltage sensors and
software algorithms detect emerging grid requirements and react automatically.
The Real-time Management system delivers advanced real-time monitoring of
the power plant.

The BELECTRIC 3.0 MegaWattBlock is a power generation unit which consists of the most advanced components
on the market, ensuring maximized space efficiency for minimized costs. The standardized unit is developed for
the construction of solar power plants in 3 Megawatt steps.
The block design includes innovations like the Triple Support substructure, specially designed for First Solar
thin-film modules, which speeds up the construction process, increases the space efficiency and saves raw
material. Another essential part of the system is the 1,500VDC technology, using the full bandwidth defined
by EU’s Low Voltage Directive. This ensures lower costs in cabling, power conversion, and leads to greater
conversion efficiencies.

Advanced Features of the 3.0 MegaWattBlock
HIGH TEMPERATURE STABILITYThe advanced thin film solar module system supplies greater stability and performance in hot as well as humid conditions than crystalline silicon technologies. The excellent temperature coefficient lets the system produce a higher energy yield during peak energy production periods.
ANTI DEGRADATION DEVICEEliminates physical degradation processes like Potential Induced Degradation (PiD) and TCO corrosion which causes yield losses. A dynamicly controlled voltage offset in relation to ground potential solves the issue.
LOW LIGHT PERFORMANCEThe thin film solar modules produce significantly more energy during low level light conditions than crystalline silicon modules. This advantage delivers greater production in cloudy weather conditions and during morning and evening hours.
ACTIVE LIGHTNING SHIELDThe active lightning shield reduces the risk of a lightning strike dramatically. The patented technology works also in the night when the solar power plant does not produce energy.
DYNAMIC REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATIONThe reactive power compensation not only controls the export of solar power to the grid, it also supplies reactive power on demand to stabilize the electrical grid - day and night. This ancillary service helps to integrate more renewable power sources into the existing distribution grid.
POSITIVE RAMP RATE CONTROLFluctuating solar irradiation can disrupt the power grid. The Ramp Rate Controller smoothly raises up exported solar power (AC) to avoid rampant power slopes. This allows a special adaption to grid regulation scenarios and to support grid operators in the daily operation.
CLOUD TRACKERClouds can cause fluctuating power generation. BELECTRIC works on a solution to forecast the movement of clouds and the corresponding impact to solar power generation. The Tracker predicts abrupt downward slopes of the feed-in AC power and delivers a forward-looking reaction.
HOT CLIMATE OPTION Specially designed components allow the solar power plant to work under hot climate conditions up to55°C (130°F). The whole system can be equipped with desert proofed components (i.e. special ventilationsystems for dusty environments and air conditioned electrical chambers).
