What is Photo Booth in Mac OS X?

Photobooth is a small in-built application in Mac for taking videos and images by camera.

Upon clicking a red button on the Phootbooth application, it waits for 3 seconds to click a snapshot.

However, the photo can be clicked immediately without waiting for 3 seconds.

To open photobooth use following path.

Uses of PhotoBooth

Photobooth previews the image before clicking it.

Some effects can be added to make the snapshot more attractive.

Photo Booth application makes you share the clicked photos through mails, used as the chat icons, and imports to iPhotos application.

Data Loss in PhotoBooth

Like other application, Phototooth too is vulnerable to data loss.

Mistakenly pressing the 'X' button leads to deletion of original copy of photos from the application.

How to recover lost photos from Photobooth?

If the photos are deleted and the application is not closed then goto following location to recover.

/private/var/tmp/folder.501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.

PhotoBooth/intermediateTrashDirectory /
