Process The original raw file of this image looked so sharp and interesting, that I decided that the image could be made use of by creating something abstract,I did this by copying and pasting the image to Photoshop in order to prevent the raw image from changing in case I messed up the editing

I created this image using a canon 600d, the image was obviously taken in direct sunlight, however the sun was behind the camera, so there was no silhouetting of the image, the light shot perfectly almost onto the building, and created a very sharp edge through the sky in the background, however I decided to reveal some of the more subtle tonal changes in the sky by editing the image so that it was in black and white, which allows the viewer's eye to pick apart the small details that make up the image, such as the texture, shape and lines of the building, I will use this technique in my final product when shooting some architectural photography.

Process

This is the final product after editing the photograph, the tonal range of the photograph has massively improved, but the image still retains the sharp edges and lines that protrude out of the background.

The image was changed to black and white using this process in Photoshop. Image>Adjustments>Black & White>Auto, I felt the auto setting was the most appropriate theme for the image as some of the other templates seemed to have either too much or too little contrast.

• This original simple image of a flower currently looks boring and bland, so to add emotion and context to the image I put the image into Photoshop, using once again the screenshot tool.

This image was shot also with a canon 600D, the image was taken in a slightly lower light environment, however I wanted/needed to lower the aperture in order to create some bokeh in the background, in order to draw attention to the most prominent flower in the image, the goal was to make the flower fit into a crop that would essentially make up for the lack of major compositional work on the image.

Process

• To add emotion to the shot I changed the image to black and white using Image>Adjustments>Black & White>Auto

This is the final product of this image, the image has been cropped and repositioned so that the centre of the flower sits exactly on the point of interest line in the rule of thirds. I did this by using the 'Crop' tool in photoshop

This image is a shot of a camera that could be turned into something that looks like it monitors urban sprawl and has a lot of emotion and meaning, so in order to do that I put it into Photoshop.

In order to create this effect I adjusted the levels and curves to a more pronounced bold look, by using an S curve with lowers the highlights and brightens the shadows, then I changed the image to black and white for emotion and effect.

I then cropped the image to set the camera into the centre of the rule of thirds point of interest.

This might not seem like a big change however in my opinion it just makes the image look slightly neater and more thought out.

Reflection• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final

product?– Some of the basic editing techniques will be the same, but most of the images will stay

the same and unedited, however most of the images that I just edited were .raw files from a DSLR so it was almost imperative to edit the images slightly or they would have looked bland and boring. All of these image were turned into black and white, and from my research I can see that my target audience prefers for the most part black and white images so I will use these techniques when creating this type of image, This type of image however is actually most likely not going to be incorporated into my project simply due to the fact that these types of images are not what I planned to create for my project, my project is based around street photography and, the community, so the types of images I will take will be less about random objects and creating a story around them, then taking a scene of a place eg. A park or a public place and trying to intrigue the viewers interest in the image in order to spark an interest in the place and communal aspect of the place, this is however similar to the first image in this PowerPoint of the college, however my project would more or less focus on a wide shot of the scene in order to get a wider perspective of what is happening in the shot.
