3 Life Skills that Change Everything

    by Berni Dymet

Wisdom is supposed to come with age and whilst that’s a great theory, it doesn’t always work out that way.

The development of essential life skills – some would call it emotional intelligence or “EQ” for short – is pretty much left to chance these days. Or, at best, it’s a bit haphazard.

Yes, schools play their role. Parents do their best, although that’s getting more and more difficult with kids drawing much of their “knowledge” through their 24/7 connectedness to peers and to a pretty scary, online world out there.

Some people are fortunate enough to have a mentor. Personally, I was blessed through a business partner who was twenty years my senior. We ...

  • The future is reaching a new generation with the love of Christ

Our Free gift to you!We would love to share the some powerful and practical life skills with you, straight out of God’s Word, by sending you a free copy of the latest life application booklet – 3 Life Skills that Change Everything

Just tick the box on the reply slip and send it back as quickly as possible. Stocks are limited.

... worked together for seventeen years, from my mid twenties to my early forties.

He taught me, for instance, to shut up and listen to other people while they were speaking (something that I wasn’t very good at, apparently!). But not everyone is fortunate enough to have been “adopted” by a wise mentor.

So, it’s easy miss out on developing the life skills we need in order to live a fruitful life that blesses other people. And yet, the Bible is cram–packed full of practical wisdom to help build our essential life skills.

Take for instance, that issue I mentioned, about learning to listen:

You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak. (James 1:19a)

I think sometimes, we expect the Bible to be high on spirituality and low on practicality. But nothing could be further from the truth, because God wants to bless our lives with His wisdom … so that we can be a blessing to others.

And that’s what this month’s free life application booklet is all about. Practical wisdom – so don’t forget to request your copy.

    60 Yearsof Ministry

    (continued from page 1)

    2 3

It’s difficult to imagine the world back in 1957. Bakelite radios with glass valves! And Australia? Well, to the Americans, it must have seemed like the ends of the earth!

This is what their CEO, Dr Arnie Cole, wrote just recently:

Here at Back to the Bible, we are so delighted to see Christianityworks celebrating 60 years of ministry.

When our forebears “planted” this little Australian ministry way back in 1957, I am sure that they could never have imagined that 60 years on, it would be thriving, reaching around the world as it is now, with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Congratulations to the board, staff and supporters of Christianityworks … and to God be all the Glory!

Without the vision, foresight, support and encouragement of Back to the Bible over many years, Christianityworks would not be impacting millions of lives with the Gospel today.

We are so grateful for this heritage, and continue to work in close partnership with Back to the Bible for the glory of our King!

In 1957, sixty years ago this year, Back to the Bible International based in Lincoln, Nebraska, stepped out in faith to plant its Australian ministry – which today is known as Christianityworks.

Congratulations on 60 Years of Ministry!… from Back to the Bible, USA

Dr Arnie Cole, CEO, Back to the Bible USA

    Celebrating

… through the support of friends like you

Honey, who shrunk the world? With transport and communications technology being

what they are these days, the world is a much smaller place than it must have seemed back there in 1957.

And through God’s faithfulness, history has repeated itself. Just as Back to the Bible, planted a ministry in Australia sixty years ago, that ministry has now gone on to established a presence in the UK, the USA, Poland, East and West Africa, and India.

Through your support, the reach and impact of the Gospel continue to grow. And that translates into many more changed lives.

So what’s changed?Technology of course. Yes, traditional media remains

a key part of the ministry, with a footprint that now spans 160 countries through over 1,350 radio and television stations.

But the digital reach and impact of Christianityworks is growing rapidly – in fact it’s the new frontier! Google has just given a grant of $10,000 per month to promote our Bible teaching through AdWords. That’s huge! Facebook is next …

Is Christianityworks really having an impact? Each week we hear from people like Stanislaw in

Poland (see page 4) whose lives have been transformed. Christianityworks receives such heartfelt emails and phone calls, letters and messages, filled with such deep gratitude … it’s absolutely astounding the lives that are being touched, transformed and saved with your support, one soul at a time.

And this is why you matter so much!Of course, it’s the King of King who enables

Christianityworks to do what it does. But He does that by working through the generosity of His people.

Truly, without the support of friends like you, month in and month out, there would be no ministry and countless people would miss out on hearing about Jesus.

But in all those years one thing hasn’t changed: the Good News of Jesus Christ!

    From Berni to YouDear Friend,

I was so deeply touched by a note on a donation slip that Christianityworks received a little while back:

As a long–time listener to both Back to the Bible and Christianityworks since the 1970’s, I’m thrilled to be able to forward this special gift. I always find the programs and resources to be a blessing, challenge and encouragement and also use some of the ministry resources with my home Bible study Group. Blessings to you all, Steve.

The generosity of friends like you and Steve, have always been at the core of the impact of the ministry. That’s what enables us to share the love of Christ in such a practical way – to show them that Christianity does work, amen?!

And with more opportunities than ever before to reach the lost with the love of Christ, your support has never been more important.

At the same time, the May/June “Fishes and Loaves Appeal” fell some 13% short of its target, putting the ministry “behind the eight–ball” as it were.

But our trust is in the Lord, to work through the generosity of His people to provide for His ministry!

So please, give generously again this month to help close that gap and take the love of Jesus Christ to many more people, desperately in need of the Good News.

Words cannot express the gratitude that is in my heart, on behalf of those whose lives will be saved, because you gave.

    Your friend in Jesus,

Dateline Warsaw: Stanislaw Saved Through the Support of Friends Like You

While preaching at a church in Warsaw, Berni met Stanislaw – a man in his mid–thirties. This is what he said:

In 2008, I watched some of the evangelistic videos that Christianityworks produced. I want to thank you deeply, because they really made me to think about where my life was headed. God spoke to me through these videos, and today I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, because you did what you did.

Today, Stanislaw is a leader in his church, ministering the Gospel to many other young people. That’s how God multiplies the impact of your giving, over and over again in the lives of so many people! Thank You
