3 rd April 2019 From the Principal… Gold fever has struck our Stage 3 classes. The “discovery” of gold on the grounds has really given the students reason to find out what it was like on the goldfields. Tomorrow they will dress in colonial gear and participate in damper making and other activities. We finally have a working photocopier again after three weeks without one. It has been surprising what you can do without. I hope many trees continue to be saved! Thank you for your patience with notes etc. We would like to remind parents and students that gifts such as eggs etc should preferably not be given out at school unless all class members are included; we frequently find that invitations/ gifts given out in front of a class with a few students missing out, for whatever reason, may cause ill feeling. We work hard to teach the students about harmony and would appreciate co-operation from families. The School Cross Country run will be held next Tuesday 9 th April. Parent Interviews for classes who have not already had theirs is next Wednesday from 1pm. Grandfriends Day is next Thursday. This is a special day for our grandparents to be pampered. Parents to help with washing up and packing away would be appreciated from 11 am. P and C is to be held next Tuesday Night at 7.30pm in the staff room Please note school finishes for the term on Friday 12 th April and will resume after the holidays on Tuesday 30 th April. Students will return in winter uniform. Easter Raffle reminder Our year 6 students have prepared an Easter raffle to raise money for their end of year gift to the school. A bundle of 10 Easter raffle tickets went home last week to each family. (with youngest child) If you didn’t receive your tickets or would like some more please come to the school office. Tickets are 50c each. Please be sure to return tickets to the school office by Monday 8 th April. Raffle will be drawn on Friday 12 th at the Easter Hat Parade. Grandfriends’ Day and Book Fair
The Book Fair is on Grandfriends’ Day. Students will preview books earlier in the week.
There will also be books available for donation to the library for $5 and $10.
Easter Hat Parade – Friday 12th April This is a reminder that there will be a Easter Hat parade in the hall on Friday 12th April at 2pm. Only kindergarten and year 1 will be parading the hats they have made at school with their buddies in year 6 and 2. Everyone is welcome to come along and watch the parade.

K-6 Cross Country Carnival - Tuesday 9th April 2019
WHERE: School oval and surrounds on Tuesday 9th April.
TIME: 12:00PM
PROGRAM: Students will enter in the age group that they turn in 2019
5, 6 and 7 year old race 8 and 9 years 2km race 10 years 2km race 11 years 3km race 12/13 years 3km race
UNIFORM: Sports uniform and sports shoes. All students must have a hat and a water bottle.
Parent Helpers: If you are able to assist during the event please email Mrs Steele on [email protected] no later than Friday 5th April. Please remember you will need a completed working with children form to assist at this event. Please contact the school office for the appropriate form if necessary.
Sporting achievements
Congratulations to Caitlyn R for her recognition in outstanding results and performance at Nippers. She was awarded the Nancy Donamski Memorial Award for her consistently positive attitude towards all elements of the North Narrabeen Nippers program, 2nd place points score U12 and also the Age Managers Award. The beaches are in safe hands.

Mums’ Evening Out – Sat 1st June
Each year we organise an evening out for the mums/carers at our school. This is not a fundraising event but a social evening for the mums/carers. In previous years we have been barefoot bowling and had dinner at Pittwater RSL Club. We would like to do something different this year. If you have any suggestions for a fun night out somewhere local that would suit all budgets, then please send Michelle an email at [email protected].
