3 DAY WEEKEND – ORPHAN BLACK: MEETING UPON MEETING June 2nd, 2014 By Jovel Johnson
“Knowledge of Causes and Secret Motion of Things”
Vic tries to get closer to Alison by trying to win her trust – and he does. She tells him about her affair with
Aynsley’s husband, and also that she failed to help Aynsley when she was choking. She just stood there and
watched as she choked to death. But while Alison feels a huge weight lifted off her shoulders for finally getting
that secret off her chest, Vic didn’t seem too happy to know that. But Alison’s relief is short lived when she
overhears Vic talking to Angie on the phone about his deal with her (getting information on Alison in exchange of
his charges being dropped).
Vic: “I have something big for you.”
Alison is putting her trust in Vic. Not a good idea. (bbcwpressroom.com)
There seems to be trust between Sarah and Mrs. S….not fully though. They plan to go after DYAD, but are
looking for a “red box” that Duncan owns which seems to be important to the cause. The search isn’t smooth
sailing though. For one, the place is ridden with bird feces and food…and dead things (so the smell isn’t great),
and Duncan is of no real use to them right now. He’s kind of…out of it. But he’s not too out of it after all. His red
box reveals floppy discs with “everything” on them.
Cal is in the process of encrypting DYAD’s information when he realizes his computer’s been hacked and they
could very well know his location. He leaves the computer behind and leaves with Kira. Sarah catches up to them
at a new meet up spot. He’s concerned about Kira’s drawings and what they mean, but Sarah tries to convince
him that she just has a very active imagination. Kira is a happy little bunny when she wakes up and sees Sarah.
Paul returns to DYAD and it is apparent that he’s now on “Team Mrs. S.” when he tells Leekie that he followed
Sarah, but came up with nothing. And there is no scientist. It’s unclear to say right now if Leekie believes him, but
he tells Paul to give Rachel his findings. He immediately wants to talk to a “Marion Bowles”.
Marion Bowles seems to be a big player in DYAD. (nerdist.com)
Cosima is undergoing tests to see if the preliminary treatment is working. They seem to be. But there could be a
snag. Cosima finds out that the stem cells given to her belonged to Kira (Sarah’s daughter). Delphine knew all
along. “Kira lost a tooth in her accident, and Leekie procured it from the hospital. It is a finite source,” Delphine
admitted. So they would have to bring Kira in for more stem cells. Cosima, feeling violated and betrayed throws
Delphine out of her lab.
Leekie meets with Marion and tells her Duncan is alive.
Marion: “Well….this is a thing.”
They want to keep this away from Rachel because she’s been taking things personally recently. Marion points out
the only time they don’t meet up often, but when they do, it’s almost always about Sarah.
“We need to look at that.”
Cal wants Sarah to go away with him to Iceland to get away from all that’s going on. For her, it’s not that easy, but
Cal doesn’t really care what she’s caught up in. But then she gets a call from Felix who’s in the rehab facility
visiting Alison (she called him after finding out about Vic. They confronted Vic about it) and tells her that Vic will
give Alison up to the police unless she meets with him.
Alison: “You need to come here and clean up your doodoo.” *Chuckling*
Vic is not in right now. (examiner.com)
Sarah arrives in Alison’s room to see Vic, who is visibly nervous and pretty well dressed for a not so happy
occasion. It’s not the short meeting Sarah and Felix were hoping for…Vic has other plans. Not only does he want
to atone forhis past behavior (he wants Sarah to apologize too), he also wants to get back together with her and
start fresh. The conversation is cut short though, after he passes out, face planting in a table nearby.
Felix: “I may have spiked his drink.”
Mrs. S. turns up at DYAD to offer a tradeoff…Duncan and the information on the floppy disks in exchange for
them leaving Kira and Sarah alone. She gives Sarah some intell – Rachel knows nothing about them killing her
mother. They plan to tell Rachel, and see where that takes them. But she’s interrupted when a rehab counselor,
thinking she’s Alison, tells her to get out of the room. Family Day at the facility is officially ready to start (Donnie
and the kids are there). So now she has to pretend to be Alison (who is now busy with Felix trying to figure out
what to do with a knocked out Vic). Now Sarah (Alison) is going to have to give a speech. Great.
Angie is at the facility to get the information she needs, but Vic is nowhere to be found. Little does she know that
Alison and Felix are dragging him all over the place. She goes into the facility to find him, but the only thing she
found was Vic passed out at the reception desk, looking worse for wear. Back in Alison’s room, Sarah is trying to
explain why she decided to impersonate her. Then Donnie walks in and sees Alison and Sarah together, for the
first time. He’s obviously shocked, but they think it’s because he’s never really seen them together before. But
Felix realizes that he, in fact, had NO idea about Alison having a clone. He was just monitoring her blindly –
without details. Sarah and Felix leave them to sort out their problems.
Rachel
is visibly moved seeing her father for the first time in years. (orphanblackfan.com)
Rachel and Paul turn up at Mrs. S’s house to meet Duncan. Rachel is visibly emotional seeing her father after all
these years. He tells her the truth about her mother and DYAD. Of course, there has to be repercussions, and
back at the office, Rachel confronts Leekie. He’s trying to talk her out of whatever he thinks she has planned, but
he has no idea what’s in store for him. She makes a call to Marion who asks her if it’s “done”. They don’t really
make it clear what “done” is, but I’m assuming they mean “kill”. Rachel spears him, however, allowing nurture to
prevail. She tells him to watch his back.
“Don’t get in your car. Don’t go home. You might survive.”
Cosima tells Sarah she needs to bring Kira in to get more samples from her. Cal is not pleased with that, but Kira
is way ahead of them. While Sarah and Cal argue outside Kira pulls out one of her own teeth. That little girl is just
too mature.
Donnie followed Leekie and demands that he gets into his car…at gunpoint. He’s upset at being lied to and
blames Leekie for his damaged marriage. But Leekie is not fazed by it, and lets him know that he was of no great
importance to the task. Donnie wants nothing more to do with Dyad. He doesn’t have to worry about that: Leekie
is no longer associated with the institute, and…he accidently kills Leekie in the car. Some kind of hand twitch and
the gun goes off, the bullet hitting Leekie in the head.
Oh, Donnie.
