To determine the quality of reported experiences, the reported experiences were compared between the methods. The cost- effectiveness of the methods was calculated using two factors: the amount of time required by the researchers in employing the methods and the amount of time required by the participants to fill out the electronic diary and drawing the UX curves. As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published in MindTrek Conference 2014, Finland. 1- Identifying the User Experience Factors of a Multi-Component Sports Product In this study, we evaluated the long-term user experience (UX) of a multi-component product from the sports domain over an eight-week period. In order to identify the UX factors of the overall UX evaluation of the multi-component product, we conducted an eight- week-long electronic diary study. Twenty five users of a sports watch system participated in the study. As a result, we present design implications to support the design of sports watch systems. As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published in MindTrek Conference 2014, Finland. http://www.slideshare.net/urslucky/paper-46 Farrukh Sahar´s Work Portfolio At the moment, I am pursuing research as a post-graduate student (Doctoral Degree) in the E- Commerce and Mobile-Commerce domains at the University of Oviedo, Spain. 4- An Investigation on Mobile Communication Technologies and Their Effects on Elderly The study was based on semi-structured interviews with health care professionals and paper-based survey with type 2 elderly diabetic patients. Interviews were conducted with those health care professional who are dealing with type 2 elderly diabetic patients and understand the problems which type 2 elderly diabetic patients are facing in the use of mobile phones. The second part was based on a survey in which we distributed a questionnaire in type 2 elderly diabetic patients to investigate the problems they are facing in using the mobile phones. As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published. http://www.ijetch.org/papers/570-B10041.pdf

3- IDSS: Development of Web Based Intelligent Decision Support System for Type 2 Diabetes Patients The project aim was to develop a web based intelligent decision support system for type 2 diabetes patients. My responsibility in this project was to perform research on an intelligent decision support system for type 2 elderly diabetic patients to provide self-management at home. During this research, interviews were conducted with health care staff and paper-based questionnaires were conducted with diabetic type 2 patients. 6- Communication Tools in Offshore Development with Scrum The aim of this research was to present a research design for providing recommendation for rich communication system in offshore development with Scrum. In this study, we discussed the research methodology used for developing the recommendation for rich communication system. A systematic literature review was conducted for getting an idea of the state of art approaches in offshore development. Interviews were conducted with the software developers in order to collect data about communication tools and communication challenges in offshore development with Scrum approaches. As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published. http://www.ijetch.org/papers/608-B10043.pdf

5- An Investigation on Perspective of Usability and Functionality of Mobile Phones for Elderly

The study was based on extensive literature review and interviews on the perspective of usability and functionality of mobile phones for the elderly users. In this study, we did not focus on usability as a whole because usability itself is a broad field, but we mainly addressed the usability attributes which contribute in designing mobile phones for elderly. We described the usability attributes which are necessary in the phase of designing mobile phones for elderly. This study on functionality of mobile phone and its usefulness could be helpful for the designers and manufacturers of mobile phones in understanding the future requirements of the elderly users.

As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published. http://www.ijetch.org/papers/583-B10042.pdf

7- An Investigation on Citizen Access to eHealth Services in County of Blekinge, Sweden The purpose of this study was to investigate citizens’ accessing the eHealth services in the county of Blekinge, Sweden by identifying the accessible, currently accessed, projected and imagined eHealth services. A literature review was conducted to understand the eHealth services which are more in health care practices within European countries. In this research, we also conducted interviews with strategy makers associated with the eHealth services in County of Blekinge, Sweden. After the interviews, paper-based questionnaire was conducted to know the citizen’s opinions about eHealth services. Usability test of the eHealth services website was also performed. As an outcome of this research results a research paper and a short book was also published. http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1830044

8- Evaluation of Accessibility through Mobile Phones In this study we presented evaluation method “AccessEva” that is a diary method supported by a software application, which runs on a smart phone with the mobile-based accessibility software. This enables the testers to survey user attitudes, and experiences about the mobile-enhanced accessibility. We selected Use Case Testing as an evaluation method for the evaluation of mobile enhanced-accessibility prototype and performed 14 tests. Moreover, we conducted five extensive interviews with the people who are directly/indirectly related to the project.

10- Measuring Retrospective User Experience of Non-Powered Hand Tools: An Exploratory Remote Study with UX Curve In this exploratory remote study, two methods from Human-Computer Interaction field, UX Curve and Attrakdiff, were used for measuring the UX of a non-interactive product. UX Curve was found suitable for evaluating changes in pruning shears’ pleasantness after three months of use. Pragmatic product aspects mainly affected the changes in product pleasantness over time. The Pleasantness curve’s shape related to the number of positive experiences, overall goodness and willingness to recommend the product. Interestingly, Attrakdiff measures proposed that in addition to pragmatic qualities, also hedonic qualities identification and beauty were related to customer loyalty. As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published in MindTrek Conference 2014, Finland.

9- Usefulness of Long-Term User Experience Evaluation to Product Development: Practitioners’ Views from Three Case Studies In this research three case studies were conducted with longitudinal and retrospective methods in a company developing interactive sports products. Our findings suggest that long-term UX evaluation provides results that are perceived as interesting, relevant and useful by practitioners. Potential uses for the results were e.g., verifying practitioners’ expectations, planning future work, understanding changes in UX, the development of future products, and updating current software products. Future research should focus on how to provide long-term UX evaluation results in more efficient manner to benefit product development.

As an outcome of this research results a research paper was also published in NordiCHI 2014 Helsinki, Finland.

I am a regular participant of focus group interviews, user tests, and product field trials in companies and research facilities. This is one way of learning from my researchers, thinking new ideas and exploring how different kinds of products and services can be evaluated and how their user experience could be improved. Plus, I like to get free food coupons.

And that’s a Wrap! For the last two years I have been acting and modeling as a hobby. Recently, I have acted in an advertisement video for NordiCHI 2014 conference Helsinki, Finland.
