WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council showcases

select works of artists participating in Norman Open Studios — including Sue Schofield, Hunter Roth, Almira Hill Grammer, Douglas Shaw Elder and more — with an opening

reception from 6 to 10 p.m. Open Studios visits on Saturday, May 11 from 9 to 3 p.m. Map avaialble at MAINSITE. Norman Arts Council Individual High School Artist award winner

Alex Rivas will also have work on display in The Library Gallery.

WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: Jacobson House comes alive with its Native Pop Art and Electric Buffalo Exhibit, featuring presentations from Joseph Koshiway and Dan Deer at 6 and 7 p.m. respectively.

to 8:30 p.m., featuring live music by the OU Juggernaut Tuba Quartet and deadCENTER Film Festival shorts CatCam and Little Dad, to go along with the

current exhibitions and permanent collection.

of University of Oklahoma painting students Robert Ahboah, Matt Anderson, Andrea Duran, Michael Hatcher, Alexa Healey, Theresa Hultberg, Meghan Murphy, Elliott Robbins and Anna Thomas. Punk blues band Psychotic Reaction will also perform on the back

patio, weather permitting.

WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: The Performing Arts Studio celebrates the artistic tradition of Geatches Studio with the work of eighteen artists — including John Brandenberg, Jim Cobb, Tom Delheimer, O. Gail Poole and more — who have worked at the studio since it opened over 50 years ago. Light refreshments will be on hand, and music will be

sponsored Art Walk Culture Talk, which highlights collections in the library and ties them in with local and global culture. May’s Talk is The State of Art with guest speaker Steve Hicks, a Shawnee artist, professor and chair of the Oklahoma Baptist University Art De-

partment. It starts at 6 p.m. in the Gallery Room.
