Welcome MessageDear Colleagues and Friends

On behalf of the Indonesian Society of Hypertension, we would like to welcome you to ththis 11 Indonesian Hypertension Society Scientific Meeting.

Hypertension, the silent killer is a leading risk factor for heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and increase the mortality and morbidity. In the years to come the burden of hypertension is expected to rise enormously. There were approximately 972 million people living with high blood pressure (BP) in the world in the year 2000, compared to an estimated 1.56 billion in 2025. In Indonesia, recently, approximately (26.5 %) adult people living with hypertension.

Efforts to control the epidemic of high BP and its cardiovascular and renal complications have traditionally focused on pharmacologic treatment of persons with established hypertension. Such efforts reflect an impressive body of evidence that has documented the beneficial effects of antihypertensive drug therapy in preventing BP-related clinical complications.

We realize that drug therapy alone is an incomplete solution to the treatment of high BP and its complications. It is well recognized that the risk of BP-related cardiovascular and renal disease increases progressively throughout the range of BP, including ranges of BP previously considered normal. Treating hypertension is not just to reduce the high blood pressure but should be “tailored made”, achieve the blood pressure target level and controlled comorbid condition such as dyslipidemia and others risk-factors. Unfortunately, a large numbers of patients have a BP that is above optimal and yet is below the traditional threshold for drug treatment.

These challenges demand compehensive management in both primary and refferal care; from preventive public health efforts to promote more effective, rational and evidence-based treatments. Hence, the theme for this year's event is :

“Hypertension 2017: The Science for Today's and Tomorrow's Practice”

We hope this event will provide more knowledge and insights to achieve optimal hypertension management that can be applicable in our daily practice.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & YIASUBMISSION CLOSING DEADLINE: 15 December 2016

Delegates are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations. We only accept research studies related to the main topic of the congress

Abstract submission according to the instruction below and will be acknowledged via email reply directly upon received. Abstracts submission via fax will not be accepted. No abstracts will be considered after closing deadline.

Presenting authors will receive notification of abstracts acceptance via email at the latest before 10 January 2017. Evaluation by the Scientific Review Committee will be based on quality, clarity and relevance for the main topic of the congress.

The Scientific Review Committee will select 3 abstracts to be presented at the Scientific Oral Presentation session. Prizes will be awarded for 3 best oral presentation and 3 best poster presentation.

All presenting authors, whose abstracts are accepted, must be paid registrants. Abstracts will not be processed until appropriate registration fee has been received.

The Organizing Committee has a right reserve to edit the format of abstracts for publication on terms of uniformity purpose.
