The first beginnings of Luckenbach Texas was a trading post that was established in 1843. By 1889 it was the

established town of Luckenbach with blacksmith, post office, dance hall, general store, and saloon. By the 70‘s the town was on its last legs when the

retired postmaster put an add in the

paper “town for sale, lock stock and barrel.” The town was bought by three Texas Characters. Today the dance hall,

saloon, and general store are still operating along with a small food stand. A place to come back to when the dance hall is in full swing.
