Currently there is a great deal of concern about the adverse environmental and social consequences of fossil fuels. Excessive usage of fossils lead to air pollution and these are also depleting at a faster rate. But it was not until the 1970s with the steep price rise of the Civil crisis and the advent of environmental movement that the society began to take more seriously the prospect of fossil fuels running out and the possibility that their continued use could be destabilizing the planet’s natural ecosystems and global climates.

Energy is of fundamental importance to society and has the greatest impact on the environment.

Society’s current use of fossil and nuclear fuels have many adverse consequences. These include air pollution, acid rain, the depletion of natural resources and dangerous of nuclear radiation. The threat of global climate change mainly caused by carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel and fuel combustion. This is one of the main reasons why there is a growing consensus on the need to reduce such emissions.

In view of supplementing power generation from Renewable Energy Sources currently there is a thrust of harnessing energy from non-polluting energy sources such as PV Wind and Tidal energy sources electricity Renewable energy make a large contribution to world primary needs.

PV and Wind energies are pollution free means of generating the renewable energy growth rates seem likely to continue, spurred on by concerns about climate change, Limited fossil fuel reserves and external costs of fossil fuel and nuclear fuel use.

The conference will also focus on some of the very pertinent areas of concerns in power pollution such as environmental issues of power generation from fossil fuels.

Further, energy conservation is a key issue among the industrial community. The conference will disseminate the means of reducing energy wastages though adoption of effective energy management and conservation policies.

Safety concerns and protection of power system are very serious issues for industries. The operation of Thermal Power generating stations involve a series of steps which expose working personnel to hazards and traumatic injuries. Hazards may be controlled through good design, knowledgeable workers & job planning. These are some of the issues to prevent pains and losses. The physical hazards in plants in addition to heat and gases include noise, electromagnetic field, asphyxiation in confined spaces. Chemicals are widely used.

The transmission and distribution systems share some of the hazards of Power Stations. They are fall from height, electric shock & burn.

Keeping the afore said subjects of interest to both industry and R&D organization the conference is planned to provide a platform to exchange ideas of academician, engineers in industries and policy makers.
