Preface: I am proud to have the honor of inviting you to the Netherlands for the Ladies Freshwater Angling World Championship this summer. We are pleased that the FIPS-ed has offered us the opportunity to organize this dream event. This amazing competition will be held on Saturday, 22 August and Sunday 23 August along the Lage Vaart canal in Lelystad. The Netherlands is renowned for its verdant, water-drenched landscape. The location of the 2020 Ladies World Championship represents that landscape to the fullest. In the middle of the polder, we have selected a beautiful course for you, where the world’s best female anglers can compete fairly and safely to decide who can follow Hungary as the world champion. You can fly to the Netherlands in comfort via Schiphol Airport, near Amsterdam, or if you prefer to drive, Lelystad has excellent road connections from virtually anywhere in Europe. We will provide more suggestions for travel and accommodations below. The Province of Flevoland offers countless hotels, bungalows and apartments to make your stay in the Netherlands as pleasant as humanly possible. THE COMPETITION VENUE The championship competition will be held along the Lage Vaart canal, on the Trekweg.

This competition fishing location is approximately 2,500 meters long and 50 meters wide. The course runs parallel to an access road (Trekweg), which will be open to the participating anglers’ vehicles during training and the competition. The space between the road and the competition water will be kept free of motor vehicles. Cars can park on the opposite side of the embankment.

The canal is virtually free of obstructing vegetation; the banks consist of grass and reeds, with clay soil. The Lage Vaart canal is mainly used for recreational boating.

The most common types of fish in the canal include:

Common bream Silver bream Roach Ruffle Perch But the competition waters also contain Ide, Carp and Pike.

The training and competition phases of the Ladies World Championship 2020 will not be subject to minimum catch sizes, as the government has issued an exemption. The organizers have also received permission to use a slingshot during training and competition. The most common techniques use a fixed rod or a match rod.

27th LADIES COARSE ANGLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2020

MAXIMUM FEED AND BAIT AMOUNT AND ROD LENGTH Groundbait: maximum 20 liters, including additives. Baits: 2.50 liters, of which a maximum amount of 0.75 liter can be jokers. A maximum amount of 0.50 liter of earthworms is allowed in the total baits. Earthworms shall be presented entire (not-cut). Bloodworms are only meant for hooking and shall be presented in a “FIPSed official size” box. After the control, bloodworms meant for hooking can be used for groundbaiting. During the Ladies Coarse Angling World Championship 2020, officials will conduct a feed and bait check

after the third signal. Participants must use the official graduated buckets and bait boxes.

During the training days, participants may only feed fish in the morning, using only the maximum amount of bait and feed stipulated above. The maximum rod length is 11.5 meters. Keep nets must have a minimum length of 3.5 meters and a diameter of 40 cm for round nets, or 50 cm diagonal for rectangular nets. LELYSTAD’S LOCATION IN THE NETHERLANDS Lelystad is the capital of the Province of Flevoland. Flevoland has a unique history. Where else can you find a province that was open sea 100 years ago? Flevoland is the largest land reclamation project in the world - the Zuiderzee Works.

The Zuiderzee Works included a wide range of projects that involved enclosing the former saltwater Zuider Zee and partially reclaiming the resulting freshwater Ijsselmeer lake. The most visually striking results include the Afsluitdijk and the Ijsselmeer polders. That makes Lelystad one of the newest cities in the Netherlands.

Lelystad was named after Cornelis Lely, the spiritual father of the Zuiderzee Works.

Lelystad has always had strong ties to the water, and the view of the wide open water exudes a sense of freedom. Flevoland also has its own national park: National Park Nieuw Land. The park consists of four nature reserves

Your registration form (see attachment) for the 27th Ladies Coarse Angling World Championship must be received by Sportvisserij Nederland (Dutch Angling Association) no later than 1 July 2020. All additional information will be provided when the teams arrive. Each country must bring its own flag and CD with its national anthem.

NATIONAL TEAM PARTICIPATION COSTS The participation fee per country is € 1,300, plus € 150 for the FIPSed, for a total of € 1,450.00. The participation fee includes the organization costs, nine tickets for the Closing Banquet, the VISpas, insurance, and the gifts Sportvisserij Nederland (Dutch Angling Association) presents to the national teams.

The official opening ceremony and introduction of the national teams will be held on Thursday, 20 August 2020 at 19:00 in the City Hall Lelystad. Participants, coaches and other attendees must be present at the City Hall before 17:30, followed by a brief parade. AWARD CEREMONY FOR THE 27TH LADIES COARSE ANGLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2020 The official award ceremony will be held on Sunday, 23 August at 16:30 at the Event Area along the Lage

Vaart, Trekweg. The Closing Banquet will be held for the participants and guests in De Cantine, Oostvaardersdijk 01 11, 8242 PA Lelystad, at 20:00.

ANTI-DOPING INFORMATION

TUE REQUESTS

A Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) is a certificate granted by an anti-doping organization (IF

for international-level athletes, NADO for national-level athletes and MEO for athlete

participating in an MEO event. The certificate is for a set prohibited substance, in certain dosages,

with a limited period of validity. An application for a TUE must be based on a documented medical

condition and diagnosis and the TUE will only be granted under strict criteria laid out in the

International Standard of TUEs.

Athletes must absolutely avoid taking a medication with a prohibited substance without a valid

TUE.

The presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers in an athlete’s sample

without a valid TUE is an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV), as are the use or attempted use of

a prohibited substance or a prohibited method, possession, administration or attempted

administration.

Athletes must therefore consult the Prohibited List https://www.wada-

ama.org/en/resources/science-medicine/prohibited-list with their prescribing physician before

taking a medication to ensure that no prohibited substance is contained in the medication

needed.

Athlete whose illness or condition requires treatment with a prohibited substance or method

must apply to CIPS for a TUE following the CIPS strict TUE application process. He shall then use

the application form, which can be downloaded from the ITA website: https://ita.sport/wp-

If the TUE is granted, the athlete will then be permitted to use the medication during the period

of validity of the TUE without committing an Anti-Doping Rules Violation (ADRV).

Regardless of whether a TUE has been granted or not, athletes should always declare on the

doping control forms filled out during sample collection any medications and supplements taken

within the seven days prior to sample collection, and any blood transfusions in the three months

prior for blood samples.

If a TUE has already been granted by a NADO or by a RADO, the Athlete in question does not

have to apply for any additional CIPS TUE, as CIPS recognizes all TUE granted by NADOs and

RADOs.
