    Abstract

One of method to control corrosion is by using organicinhibitors, for example phenolic which is contained in the

paracetamol drug and peanuts’s shell. The purpose of thisexperiment was to determine the effect of the addition of

paracetamol drug into peanut shell extract inhibitor and determine its inhibition mechanism. This experiment wasusing API 5 grade ! steel immersed in a mixture of "itamin# supplement and peanut shell extracts with a fixed concentration of 5$$ ppm. %ariation of total concentration of the inhibitor was $, &$$$, &5$$, '$$$, and '5$$ ppm and p(

5 and ). The experiment using weight loss, *I+, linear polari ation, -TI and / 0 testing. The result showed that the highest efficiency obtained either on p( 5 and with '$$$

ppm, '$ days of immersion. The inhibition mechanism of thisinhibitor is physisorbtion.
