1. Teacher distributes a copy of the picture to the pupils together with the substitution table.
2. Teacher discusses the picture with pupils in details. a. How many people can you see from the picture?
(Teacher asks them to circle each person they saw)b. What are those people doing? (Teacher lists down their answers)c. Can you give me the tools that they are using? (Teacher lists down the answers)
3. Teacher asks the pupils to copy the correct answers in their substitution table.
Rationale:To get pupils throw their ideasand response to teacher.
Practice(20 minutes)
Task 2
AVA:Mahjong papers
1. Teacher divides the pupils into 8 groups.2. Teacher distributes the picture of ‘gotong-
royong’ and words to each group.3. Teacher explains to the pupils what they
have to do in their groups.Instructionsa. Study the picture carefully.b. Each member must pick one word out
of the box.c. Each member must form a complete
sentence using the word he got based on the picture.
d. Each member must read aloud his sentence.
e. Write your sentences in the mah-jong paper provided.
f. Put your mah-jong paper on the white board
g. Choose one representative from your group to read sentences to the class.
Rationale:To get pupils work together and produce sentences.
Production(15 minutes)
Task sheet 1. Teacher asks pupils to rewrite the sentences in an essay format in the task sheet given.
