HONOREES
JULIE AND BUCK WATERSJulie and Buck Waters are dedicated leaders
in our community and devoted supporters
of the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Their
support launched the new Hylton Center
EXTRA! series which has brought artists like
Art Garfunkel, Roseanne Cash, and Richard
Thompson to Merchant Hall Stage. Recently,
Julie and Buck have materialized their passion
for the arts and education by generously naming the Practice Room
Suite Anteroom within the new Education and Rehearsal Wing.
Julie and Buck have demonstrated steadfast leadership and
commitment to Prince William County, George Mason University
and the Hylton Center through their personal philanthropy and
volunteerism. They both serve as instrumental members of the
Hylton Centers’ Campaign Committee. Julie is currently a member of
the Hylton Center’s Education Committee, Secretary of the Manassas
Ballet Theatre and a past board member of SERVE. She also chairs
The Water’s Foundation. In 2013, she was a recipient of the
Kathleen K. Seefeldt Award for Arts Excellence-Outstanding Volunteer
for her work helping to implement a program to bring children from
the community school system to the Hylton Center for performances
as a way to expose them to the arts.
As a member of the first fundraising committee to build the Hylton
Center, Buck was a member of the George Mason University Prince
William Campus Advisory Board. A former Chair of the Prince
William Regional Chamber of Commerce, Buck also chaired the
Prince William & Manassas Convention & Visitors Bureau and the
Potomac Business Committee for the Arts.
We know that their support and enthusiasm will continue to advance
the arts in our community for years to come.
