As we move toward the end of the liturgical

year, we are presented with a theology of crea-

tion--in a sense, a reflection on who we really

are, and what our lives are really about. The

Book of Wisdom tells us that, though infinitesi-

mally small, we are each designed by a loving

God, Who loves us no matter what, for God can

never NOT love what He has created. So, when

we are seen to be wavering off course, God

doesn't rage, rather God gently calls us back to

being all that we are capable of being. Now, let's

look at the Zacchaeus story in this light--little

Zacchaeus, too small to be noticed, was called

forth by the Christ, Who helped him to become

the best person he could be. And look at how

Zacchaeus responded! That is why Paul's finest

prayer for his church in Thessalonica, is that that

God bring to fulfillment the good He has de-

signed for each of them to accomplish. We

probably need to remember this lesson, too. We

have each been fashioned as we were made be-

cause God loved us and the "future us" He saw

us becoming! So, we pray that we be

"completed," be made "whole," that the "acorn"

in us, become the oak we were designed to be-

come.

- Fr. Bill Axe

Aprendi-

¡Denle gracias y denle gracias a

Dios!

Que tengan una semana bendita,

Hermana Karen

T he beautiful opening words from the book of

Wisdom give us a picture of a God who is

involved with and cares for creation. It is not

something that randomly happened, but was guided

by the creator’s hand. I find this reading comforting,

healing and full of hope. We believe in a God who

cares and has not left us out in the cold. It is also

challenging!! How do we imitate this God in our

lives?

This past Tuesday I participated in the Yoga class.

Now some may ask what Yoga has to do with Ca-

tholicism and I would say a lot. We learned how to

slow down, breath, become aware of our surround-

ings and thank “God” for them. We also learned

how to take care of our body, this temple God has

given us to take care of. Maybe we can all spend a

little time this week being aware of our surroundings

and the people in our lives. Thank them and thank

God!!

Have a blessed week,

Sr. Karen

EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR PARENTS

Saturday, November 16 in the Parish Hall

At 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Have you asked yourself how you can help your child succeed?

How can you help him learn? Have you ever felt frustrated, that

he's in an English-speaking American school – but perhaps you

don't speak English, or you grew up in another country with

different ways of educating children. How do you know if your

kid's in a good school, with a good teacher? What should you

do if your child is struggling in school? How do you make sure

he or she keeps doing well? How should you talk to teachers,

principals? Why is finishing high school or college truly impor-

tant? What's college all about? What's the difference between a

school like Trade Tech or UCLA?? Is college something you

should think about when he's 6 years old, or can you wait until

he's 16 or older? Ashley Merryman will answer to these ques-

tions and more – You'll learn how to motivate children and how

to help them in class. It's time to start unlocking that door.

Ashley Merryman is an award-winning journalist. With Po

Bronson, she is the author of two New York Times bestselling

books, NurtureShock: New Thinking about Children and Top

Dog: The Science of Winning and Losing.

Aprenderán a cómo motivar a

"Nobody can do every-thing but everybody can do

something"

Thank you English Eucharis-tic Ministry for the donation of the entire meal for all 125 guests last Saturday. The lunch bags for our guests were overflowing with food and packed with love. Our guests were grateful. God is good all the time all the time God is good. God sent these saints with blessings of kindness that were passed on to those who needed a touch and reminder that somebody cares. Amen Please bring your donations of a new suitable items, movie tick-ets, fast food /restaurant certifi-cates, tickets to a sporting event for the Chinese Auction Table

at the Holiday Boutique to the S.H.A.R.E. Table behind the church or to the PC Office with S.H.A.R.E. on the bag by Friday November 15. If you are planning to donate a home baked item for us to sell during the bake sale please see Margie today to sign up. Because of the economy and the possible loss of some of our donors, volunteers and the shortness of preparation time this year we have started early with asking for the needs for our probable 2000 plus guests. Our need is for 90, 18-20 pound turkeys. If any of you could possibly when the turkeys go on sale for Thanksgiving pick up one for the dinner, we will pro-vide freezer space to hold until December. Each week we have placed a dinner need item in the bulletin that before the Holidays cost

less. This weeks suggestions are. hotel size jar of jellied cran-berry sauce, canned cut sweet potatoes/ yams, Mrs Cubbi-son corn bread dressing mix and jiffy corn bread mix. Please look for the entire list of needs in the bulletin in the next few weeks. Some of our family have ap-proached us about used items. If you could please hold on to these and bring December 20-23. We cannot store these items. We will distribute these during the Christmas Day Din-ner. Many people during the Holi-days are seeking a place to do give back and pass on bless-ings. Please encourage your family, friends co-workers, neighbors and acquaintances to consider doing a food drive or toiletry collection for us to pass on to our guests during the

Christmas Day Dinner. If you know of a company, store or business that would consider making a donation to our dinner pleases call the office 323-935-8127 with the name ,address and who's attention to mail the letter to. We can only reach out to make an impact and difference in the lives of those who are in need with the grace of God and your support and encouragement. Amen. God's blessings of many mo-ments this week where you feel His presence with His gentle reminder that He has your back and is there to provide you grace, comfort and support in ALL matters and situations. Amen.

SSAVEAVE AA BABYBABY: N: NOO BEDBED SHARINGSHARING

Relational bullying is unwarranted, persistent, unwelcome behavior in the form of criticism, isolation, or fabricated allegations that can damage relationships. Examples include social ex-clusion (“You can’t be with us”), spreading rumors (“Did you hear…?), and withholding friendship (“I won’t be your friend if you…”). Though relational bullying can often seem ambiguous to outside ob-servers and often garners less attention than physical bullying or verbal bullying, it should not be discounted simply as normal, adolescent behav-ior. In fact, several recent studies suggest rela-tional bullying is more strongly related to emo-tional distress and teen depression than any other form of bullying. Make sure your child’s school does not tolerate such behavior.
