26The first coming Jesus delivered our souls from sin and led us to heaven.
However, the second coming Jesus will judge the world with fire and take away
those who desire 'the return of Christ'.
The parable of 'the ten virgin' explains about those who will not be accepted
at the return of Jesus. 'The ten virgins' refer to all people who went to receive
the bridegroom and 'the bridegroom' refers to the second coming of Jesus.
However, the five of the ten virgins were foolish and the other five were wise.
The five foolish virgins had lamps but did not have any oil with them. But the
five wise virgins had the both lamps and oil with them. When the bridegroom
arrived at night, the five wise virgins went to meet the bridegroom with their
lamps burning brightly but the five foolish virgins could not meet the bridegroom
because their oil ran out and thus, the lamps were dark. By the time the five
foolish virgins came, the door at the wedding party was already shut. They
shouted by saying, Lord, Lord, open to us! but the Lord replied by saying, I
do not know you.
What we learn from this message is that the five foolish virgins did not get to
meet the bridegroom because they only had lamps, not oil. The 'oil' in this
parable refers to the Holy Spirit. If we do not have the 'oil', which is the Holy
Spirit, like these foolish virgins, we will also be rejected at the gate of heaven
and be judged in hell. Generally people do not even dream about going to hell
but firmly believe to go to heaven simply because they believe in Jesus. (Prov
14:12) This is why we must examine ourselves whether we have the Holy Spirit
in us or not. (2 Cor 13:5)
So then, when and how does the Holy Spirit come in us? The Spirit comes in
us when we receive
God's forgiveness by the
blood of Jesus and thus,
saved. (2 Cor 1:21-22)
We must continue to
read and study the Bible
to confirm ourselves the
Holy Spirit in us.
Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and
went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took
_______________________ in their vessels with their lamps. (Matt. 25:1-4)
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he
who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matt 7:21)
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation;
in whom also, having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.... (Eph
1:13)
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeedthe Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have
the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. (Rom 8:9)
01. What caused the five foolish virgins not join in the wedding party?
02. What does the 'oil', which the foolish virgins could not prepare for, refer to?
03. When does the Holy Spirit come in us? (2 Cor 1:21-22, Acts 2:38)
04. Let's write down at least 2 signs which show that Jesus' return is near.

Dear God, please lead me in

In the School for the Blind, Fanny received aneducation in poetic literature and writing.
In a few years, she became a teacherand taught grammar, rhetoric, andhistory. She also travelled with her students, giving talks and presenting her poemsto raise money for a new school forblind students.
How doesshe write her
poems sobeautifully,
even withoutthe
experience of seeing?
To Fanny, starting a newschool for the blind was God'swill. She focused all herstrength on starting the newschool and in helping thosewho could use her help.
In the second half of 1846, a diseasecalled "cholera" killed many people indifferent countries.
During this time, Fanny helped takecare of people who were infectedand suffering by it.
Don't worry,God willtake care ofyou all.
Bring the dead body
here.
What willhappen if I getcaught with
cholera? Will Ibe able to goto heaven?
The fact that Iam a famousblind poet will
not matterbefore God.
If you wantyour spirit tofly, why are
your wings onthe ground?
Rememberwhat you said

Dear God, thank you.
At last Iunderstand whatyou have done
for me.
Until now, I've alwaysbeen split between the
world and God. Now I hope to use both hands
for God.Now I offer upmy soul, that
You may do asYou will.
All this time, God had beenleading Fanny through His Providence tochange her into a new person. Though manypeople suffered from cholera, Fanny was ableto taste of the grace of God in her life.
