How does your media product represent

particular social groups?

Punk music is mainly dominated by males. However on my front cover I have a female and she appears to be able to stand her own ground. She appears quite dominate and looks like she’s screaming or telling someone what to do and that’s why she has a megaphone.

Many people believe that all people that listen or make punk music are tattooed from head to toe. However this is not true on all the images I have used only 2 people have tattoos and they aren’t tattooed as much as people believe.

The other stereotypical thought is that punk kids are moody, never smile and never have any fun. In my interview Mike shares his funny onstage experiences. He also is quite calm and laidback.

Punk music

Most punk music is quite heavy and loud with a heavy drum beat. However my main feature is based around a band who describe themselves as ‘fruit pop’. They are on the softer side of punk and are quite easy listening however their music is still interesting enough to hold punk lover’s attention. This shows that not all punk music is ‘loud’ and ‘annoying’ there is a range of ‘punk’.
