Welcome to the development squad…

• Very excited to see such a talented group• Tips from me

– Talk to your coach!!– Work as a team – use each other– Take ownership of your development– If you have a (real) problem; communicate!!

• Smithy can alter appointments• I can get off your back over a PDP• Coaches can be changed

PDPs - Stop moaning & groaning!!

• Why have a PDP?– Cos the RFU (allegedly) want one?– To show I take the lead in MY development?– To ensure my development is focused?

• SWOT analysis– Your personal take on where you are– Guides what you need

• Goals– Set by yourself then get your coaches input– Make them very specific

What to add to your PDP

• Personal reflection on each game– Short & sweet, (personal to you how you do this)

• DVD analysis– A copy or your overall reflection on the DVD (after analysis)

• Coach’s progress report• All MOs reports over the season

• At Christmas:– Review your goals– Do another SWOT analysis– Start again…
