PSLE – A placement exam
• Purpose of the PSLE is to assess pupils’
suitability for secondary education and place
them in one of the appropriate secondary school
courses by merit and as far as possible their
choice.

What is Transformed Score (T-Score)?
Subject T-score
•A number that says how well pupil did in the PSLE
subject
•Determined by the MARK pupil scored
•Calculated for each of the subjects

What is Transformed Score (T-Score)?
Aggregate T-score:
•Total of the T-scores for all subjects
•Rank or position of pupil’s performance compared to all
other pupils in the subject
•Determines the secondary school you are posted to

Aggregate Score (Pupils exempted from MT)
The aggregate score
is a sum of the 3
T-scores and to be
converted to a score
of equal standing.

• Equal weighting for ALL subjects at PSLE
• Give sufficient time for ALL subjects to achieve best

Secondary 1 (S1) Posting Exercise
• All pupils who pass the PSLE are eligible to participate
in the Sec 1 Posting Exercise.
• This is with the exception of those who are successful
in the DSA-Sec Exercise.
