INVITATION TO ICA 2019
The German Acoustical Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Akustik, DEGA) is pleased to invite you to the
23rd International Congress on Acoustics in the beautiful and historical city of Aachen in September 2019.
Aachen, Germany, is located close to the border tripoint of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. One of
Germany‘s leading institutes of higher education in technology, the RWTH Aachen University, is located in
the city. Aachen‘s industries include science, engineering and information technology. Altogether, Aachen
is home of more than 60.000 students, which give the city a young and international flair.
The technical program will include plenary, distinguished, invited,
contributed, and poster papers covering all aspects of acoustics.
In addition, there will be an extensive technical exposition
highlighting the latest advances in acoustical products.
The congress will integrate the conference EUROREGIO of the
European Acoustics Association, EAA, with invited papers focus-
ing on European projects, educational programs, standards, and
legislation. As a pre-congress event, the EAA Summer School
for Young Acousticians is held in Leuven, Belgium.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION – STARTING NOW
You are kindly invited to participate in ICA 2019 by contributing a paper for an oral or poster presentation.
At the ICA conference, you will get the opportunity to present and share your scientific work with a large
and worldwide audience from your area of work.
Becoming part of the conference proceedings, your paper will remain visible in open access in the long
term and will be accessible online to everyone without limitations.
Abstracts can be submitted starting now until 1 February 2019 at: www.ica2019.org/authors
Your abstract may contain 200 words maximum. Contributed as well as invited papers are welcome in all
branches of acoustics.
When submitting your abstract, please choose the corresponding topic and session which suit best for
your paper. In the following point, you will find an overview of all sessions and topics. If you have been
invited by a session chair, please choose that same session. Authors of contributed papers can submit their
paper either to a special session or to the general session which exists in every topic. The final composition
of each session will be decided together with the session chairs.
The updated list is also visible at www.ica2019.org/program/technical_sessions
Before submitting your abstract, please register the main author, who will present the paper, for the
conference. You will receive a registration ID which you need to enter during abstract submission.
The payment for your registration can be initiated later. The latest possible date of payment for authors is
1 June 2019 (receiving date). Authors of all papers are expected to pay the registration fee.
Registration is possible at: www.ica2019.org/registration
Full paper submission
From 1 March on, you can submit the final paper of your presentation for the conference proceedings. This
paper can consist of up to 8 pages. It is encouraged that all authors hand in their final paper. If in
exceptional case it is requested to just present a contribution (without full paper), we will - upon consultation
- use the abstract for the proceedings.
Templates and instructions will follow in your acceptance confirmation email, as well as on the conference
website at: www.ica2019.org/authors
The deadlines for abstract as well as for paper submission are hard deadlines and cannot be extended
due to technical reasons. Please note the following dates:
1 February 2019 Last day for abstract submission

TECHNICAL PROGRAM AND SPECIAL SESSIONS
The technical program will consist of oral presentations and poster sessions. Technical sessions will be
scheduled from Monday to Friday, 9 to 13 September 2019. Sessions will be subdivided into slots of 20
minutes for each oral presentation (15 minutes of talk, short discussion and time for room change). Posters
will be displayed at the end of the session and in the poster exhibition. A share of time will be specially
allocated to the poster forum with authors present at their posters for discussion of their presented work.
Special Euroregio Sessions are marked with the EAA Logo:
Every effort will be made to schedule contributed abstracts in accordance with the author’s and Technical Committee’s preferences. However, authors should be prepared to accept assignment to poster sessions. Assignments will take into account: a) author preference, b) program balance, and c) Technical Committee instructions. The committee reserves the right to reject abstracts which do not comply with general scientific standards.
The special sessions described below will be organized by the Technical Program Committee. During paper submission, Authors of invited papers must select for their abstracts the title of the special session in which they have been invited to participate.
Authors of contributed papers have the option to request placement of their abstracts in the sessions. Alternatively, they can choose the “General” session given in each topic.

EXHIBITION AT ICA 2019
Eurogress Congress Center provides excellent booth spaces
at the heart of the ICA 2019 conference. Ample space is
provided for exhibitors, right next to the conference rooms.
The large portion of exhibition spaces is located on the
ground floor directly in front of the plenary hall, wardrobe and
conference office. From the spacious balcony on the 1st
floor, participants will also have a good insight onto the
majority of the booths. Further spaces are located on the
2nd floor, next to conference rooms and catering station.
The conference participants are automatically guided
through the exhibition when they enter the venue, switch
rooms, get in and out. During comprehensive lunch breaks,
between sessions and in numerous coffee breaks in between
sessions, participants will traditionally use the chance to visit
the nearby exhibition and chat with exhibitors over a coffee,
to find out about new products, services and developments
and to make new contacts – all in the vital conference
atmosphere of the ICA.
Registration for the exhibition starts in January 2019 at: www.ica2019.org/exhibition-sponsorship
…also catch a glimpse for exclusive information ahead of the registration at the website.
ADVERTISING AND SPONSORSHIP AT ICA 2019
There are several additional ways to attract the attention of the conference participants:
Advertising
your full-page advertisement in the ICA program book (print run: about 2500) your flyer and other inserts for the conference bag (print run: about 1600)
You can also support ICA by becoming a Sponsor
Packages will include for example:
Sponsoring the conference coffee cup printed with your company´s logo
Sponsorship of the conference ticket for free travel through Aachen
Contributions to the social event – Social evening at Ludwig Forum
T-shirts or vests for all ICA staff printed with your company´s logo
Registration for Sponsorship starts in January 2019 at: www.ica2019.org/exhibition-sponsorship
