230KV SWITCH YARD CHECK LIST
A. CIVIL
1. Grouting for all tower foundations is completed
2. Grouting for all equipment foundations is completed
3. All cable trenches are cleaned properly & covered with pre cast slabs
4. All cable trench junctions are closed
5. All earth pits are constructed and plastering is done
6. Total Switch yard area is back filled and compacted
7. Final back filling levels are noted
8. 40mm metal is spreaded with a thickness of 40mm
9. All fencing poles are fixed properly and painted
10. Fencing mesh is laid properly
11. Metering fencing is completed with gates and locks
B. ELECTRICAL
1. All towers structure foundations bolts are fixed as per drg.
2. All towers structure foundation bolts are tightened properly
3. All towers structures are erected as per drg.(Angles, Bolts, Washers, Spring washers & nuts)
4. All equipment structure foundation bolts are fixed as per drg.
5. All equipment structure foundation bolts are tightened properly
6. All equipment structures are erected as per drg.(Angles, Bolts, Washers, Spring washers & nuts)
7. All equipments are erected
8. All equipments are named properly with standard painting
9. Earth mat is laid for total Switch yard
10. All cable trays support structures are treated with one coat of anti corrosive paint and 2 coats
of enamel paint
11. Earth mat is laid 2000mm away from fencing
12. All towers are connected to earth mat by 75x12mm GI flat at 2 nearest locations
13. All towers spikes are connected to earth pits by shield wire
14. All equipment structures are connected to earth mat by 65X10mm GI flat at 2 locations
15. All earthing joints are tightened propely
16. All earthing joints are treated with anti corrosive paint
17. All isolator mechanism boxes and earth switches are provided by separate auxiliary earth mat
18. All equipments are connected to earth mat by 65X10mm at 2 locations
19. All equipment junction boxes, mechanism boxes, etc.. are connected to earth mat by 50X6mm
GI flat at 2 locations
20. All cable trays are connected to earth mat by 50X6mm GI flat all along the run
21. Earth flat along the cable trays are treated with anti corrosive paint
22. All earth pits are excavated at a depth of 3mts
23. All earth pits are located by GI/CI pipes
24. Earth pits are filled with alternative layers of salt & charcoal for treated earth pits
25. Transformer body is connected to nearest earth pits
26. Transformer HV neutral is connected earth pit by 75X12mm Cu. flat
27. Earth mat is connected to nearest earth pits
28. Earth pit joints are tightened properly
29. All Cable are laid properly and dressed properly
30. All cables, cable glands are connected to earth flat by Cu. leads
31. Earth pit resistances are measured and noted
32. Individual earth pit resistance should be up to 1 Ohm(If the value is out of limit add the water
and measure once again)
33. Combined earth pit resistance should not be more than 0.5 Ohm
34. All earth pits are covered with CI cover
35. Individual earth pit resistances are noted by paint on respective earth pit with serial no.
36. All power, control and relay panels are erected and earthed properly (CP, RP, ACDB, 220DCDB,
48V DCDB, SCADA, PLCC etc...)
37. Cable schedule is available
38. Cable tagging is completed
39. All testing activities are completed for all equipments
40. All testing readings/reports are noted/collected
41. Whether Switch yard is ready for taking Start Up Power
