“We offer every child the chance to act on stage,” says foundingdirector Gavin Coffing. When he started the Willow Glen Children’sTheatre (WGCT) in 1988, Coffing created a unique program that notonly offered every participants to act in an original play, but to alsoparticipate in the creative process.
Over twenty years later, WGCT remains one of Silicon Valley’smost innmost innovative children’s theatres and we continue to cast everychild in our productions.
Our extraordinary approach to theatre gives children the tools toincrease their self-confidence and make friends in a safe andsupportive environment. In addition to acting skills, childrendevelop their presentation, speaking, listening, and reading skills.
Our staff includes talented and dedicated individuals, all formerparticipants. participants. We make it our mission to ensure that each child issuccessful from start to finish. In addition, these teen and youngadults are excellent role models, both in and out of the theatre.

Willow Glen Children’s Theatre offers three sessions during theschool year in which children ages 7 & up can be part of a newplay that is written just for them!
Theatre Connection starts as a workshop on Saturday mornings,and as the script is written actors are invited to attend weekdayrehearsals. Everyone gets a part, and everyone performs in a final production at the Littlefinal production at the Little Theatre.

SESSIONS
Willow Glen Children’s Theatre offers a unique theatre experiencefor children ages 3 to 5. Fairy Tale Theatre introduces these young“actors” to classic and contemporary stories and are allowed torecreate the story through performance.
Fairy Tale Theatre is a morning workshop for one hour that lastssix weeks. We offer the workshop four times a year. Everyonegets the gets the chance to act our their favorite characters.

PAST RESIDENCIES
Willow Glen Children’s Theatre provides on-site workshops andprograms at local schools. In collaboration with teachers, principals,and parent volunteers, a unique program is created to best servethe needs of the students at a particular school.

DATES
Willow Glen Children’s Theatre present four original plays each year.During the school year, participants from the Theatre ConnectionWorkshop present plays at the Little Theatre (2105 Cottle Avenuein San Jose). The productions typically last an hour and fifteenminutes and are suitable for children of all ages.
During thes summer we present a short play that features the talents of our campers. talents of our campers. Taking place at the beautiful amphitheatreat Willow Street Bramhall Park, this is also a WGCT highlight of the season. We hope you’ll join us; tickets are only $5!
