Editorial

While natural gas will continue to be an important source of energy for the time being, renewable energy is already playing a larger role in our economies. Both Norway and Germany are providing innovative solutions to the renewable sector. «Where is the next revolution co-ming from?» is the title of the 22nd German Norwegian Energy Forum, which emphasizes that changes need to occur within politics, society and technology.

Current and future German Norwegian cooperation is important for reaching climate targets, and there are good examples of sectors with a promising future. Norway has a leading role within electrifica-

tion, not only in the power sector but especially in the transportation sector. Norway has a strong position in e-mobility and autonomous transport. As maritime nation, the mariti-me transport is undertaking a green shift with hydrogen, LNG and other energy efficient measures. The Norwegian offshore industry is looking to the ocean to harvest the offshore wind energy. Norway is in the lead of finding solutions for global challenges.

From the very beginning of the German Norwegian Energy Forum, our mission has been to connect representatives from politics, science, institutions and businesses.

German and Norwegian energy experts are committed to driving, impacting and influencing positive changes in this field, aiming to ensure access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy regardless of country or region.

Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin, with actors from both Nor-way and Germany, will continue the work on creating a bilateral business network. The common goal is to strengthen the German Norwegian Energy Partnership and ensure a sustainable and secure energy supply in Europe.
