Embroidery needle 3 - 2- hole buttons ¼” (Medium Blue) Yarn Needle Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch Abbreviations: BO = Bind Off CO = Cast On K = Knit P = Purl RS = Right Side St(s) = Stitch(es) WS = Wrong Side Pattern Stitches: Stripe Pattern #1 (20 rows): *[4 rows of color A, 4 rows of color B]; repeat from *, and end with 4 rows of color A. Dash Pattern #2 (2 rows): On RS and WS, *[K 2 sts of color C, K 2 sts of color B]; repeat from * across row.

Blanket: With circular needle and color A, CO 148 sts. Work in Garter st (K every row) for 8 rows. Note: Work 5 sts Garter st Border in color A at the beginning and end of each row for the entire blanket. The Body of the blanket is worked in Stockinette Stitch. With color A, K 5 sts of the border, join color B and work 4 rows in Stockinette st, end with K 5 sts of the border. On RS, work Stripe Pattern #1 for 20 rows. Work 8 rows of color B with K 5 sts of the borders of color A. On RS, K 5 sts of the border of color A, work 92 sts B, join color D and work across 28 sts Plane Chart Pattern 18 sts of color B, end K 5 sts of the border with color A. Work 7 rows of the Chart. On RS, join color C and work 2 rows of Dash Pattern #2, on either side of the Chart, as shown in photo. When 18 rows of the Plane Chart Pattern are complete, continue in color B for 4 rows, keeping K 5 sts of the borders with color A. On RS, K 5 sts of the border, work Stripe Pattern #1 for 20 rows. Work 8 rows of color B with K 5 sts of the borders with color A. On RS, K 5 sts of the border in color A, work 55 sts with color B, join color D and work across 28 sts Plane Chart Pattern, 55 sts of color B, end with K 5 sts of the border with color A. Work 7 rows of the Chart. On RS, join color C and work 2 rows of Dash Pattern #2 on either side of the Chart. When 18 rows of Plane Chart Pattern are complete, continue in color B for 4 rows, keeping the K 5 sts borders in color A. On RS, K 5 sts of the border using color A, work Stripe Pattern #1 for 20 rows. Work 8 rows of color B with K 5 sts of the borders using color A. On RS, K 5 sts of the border with color A, work 18 sts with color B, join color D and work across 28 sts Plane Chart Pattern, 92 sts using color B, end with K 5 sts of the border using color A. Work 7 rows of the Chart. On RS, join color C and work 2 rows of Dash Pattern #2 on either side of the Chart. When 18 rows of the Plane Chart Pattern are complete, continue in color B for 4 rows, keeping the K 5 sts of the borders in color A. On RS, work 8 rows of color A in Garter st across rows. BO on WS row. Finishing: Block piece lightly to measurement. Propeller (Make 3): With crochet hook and strand of color G, chain 4” and knot, leaving long strand. Fold in half and st centers together. Wrap remaining strand tightly around center and tack at nose of plane as indicated on chart. Sew button at center. Wings (Make 3): With smaller needles and color F, work wing in Garter st. CO 9 sts. Work 4 rows even. *[On RS, decrease 1 st at beginning of row and work 4 rows]; repeat from * for 4 rows. *[On RS, decrease 1 st at beginning of row and work 2 rows]; repeat from * 3 times. BO on WS. With strand of color F and embroidery needle, chain st around wing for a clean finish. Attach at top as indicated on Chart, leaving bottom loose.
