Member of transmission and switching have to be created these are known as Substation. Substation is an assembly of apparatus,which transform the characteristics of electrical energy from one form to another say from one voltage level to another level. Hence a substation is an Intermediate link between the Generating station and consumer. At generating end, the voltage is only stepped up for transmission of power while at all the subsequent substations the voltage is gradually stepped down to reach finally to working voltage level CURRENT TRANSFORMER The current transformer are used to stepped down to the current. It is used for measurement/control/ protection. CIRCUIT BREAKER Circuit breaker are used for switching and protection. Brake a circuit automatically under fault condition. A circuit breaker consist of fixed and moving contact called electrode. SF-6 CB Air CB TYPES OF CIRCUIT BREAKERS OIL CIRCUIT BREAKER A high-voltage circuit breaker in which the arc is drawn in oil to dissipate the heat and extinguish the arc; the intense heat of the arc decomposes the oil. AIR-BLAST CIRCUIT BREAKER Fast operations,suitability for repeated operation, auto recloser, unit type multi break constructions,simple assembly, modest maintenance are some of the main features of air blast circuit breakers. The SF6 is an electronegative gas and has a strong tendency to absorb free electrons. Circuit breakers have been developed for voltage 115KV to 230KV, power rating10 MVA BUSBARS Bus bars are common electrical component through which a large no. of feeders operating at same voltage have to be connected. It is used to connect a transmission line which go for electricity. It is made of high strength material conductor, called ACSR conductor. PROTECTIVE RELAY A Protective relay is a device which detect the fault. After detection the fault it send signal to the circuit breaker It provide safety to the electrical equipments break down. CONTROL PANEL POTENTIAL TRANSFORMER The potential transformer is used for protection purpose. It is used for measurment of voltage. WAVE TRAP:- SINGLE LINE DIAGRAM:- LIGHTINING ARRESTER Used for protecting the equipment from surge voltages CIRCUIT BREAKER used to protect the equipment by opening the circuit for over current and over voltages ISOLATORS Used for maintenance of the circuit in no load condition RELAY Used to sense the faults WAVETRAP T raps the high frequency signals CURRENT VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS It is a used in power systems to step down extra high voltage signals and provide a low voltage signal, for measurement or to operate a protective relay TRANSFORMERS Also known as the heart of substations. These are used to reduce the voltages at appropriate levels SUMMARY OF EQUIPMENTs CONCLUSION An Engineer need to have not just theoretical but practical as well as and so every student is supposed to undergo a practical training session after 3 rd year where I have impaired my knowledge about transmission,distribution.during the 50 days training session. I have acquainted with the repairing of a transformer and testing of transformer. At last is would like to say that practical training taken at 220kv GSS morak has broadened my knowledge and widened my thinking as a professional. ANY QUERY
