And to continue the work undertaken last season, The neW nOW sPaCe, led by designer Deborah Sfez, will turn the spotlight on a selection of 12 emerging children’s fashion brands who will be taking their first steps at the show:

hi little Spain / monty & co United Kingdom / organic zoo United Kingdom / paush United States / poupée Greece / raspberry republic Poland / salacadula Spain / theodore kids France / vuela cometa Spain / walnut & walrus Sweden wawa Denmark / where is marlo Switzerland

down with individualism, up with solidarity! With “live together” as our motto, we’ll learn to “disconnect” to make the most of moments amongst friends and family. We’ll hold an open and curious view on the unknown in order to share experiences, to learn, teach, and create a collective narrative and history.

Using this social manifesto as a starting point, our trend setter Julie Malait has identified three key trends which will be finding their way into our children’s wardrobes next year.

COllaBOraTIve Trends!

share In these uncertain times, let’s not be afraid to go beyond borders. We must encourage our children to explore new horizons and to go off and discover otherness. Exchanging and sharing are life-affirming values and key to living together.

Materials: muslin, satinColors: gold, variations on Turkish delight, burgundy, Cerulean blue, honeyPrints: mosaic, vegetal oriental, kilimKey pieces: turban, kaftan, harem pantsKey words: cultural blending, Eastern/Western, Turkish delight, oriental mosaic, Topkapi, sharing, cultural exchange

rePaIrThe world has become tired of planned obsolescence and disposability. To counter this, we’ll adopt the mending attitude. We’ll teach our children to refurbish rather than discard. We’ll fix and mend with our families and give a second breath to objects. So, what if we all got together and fixed the world?

Materials: denim, recycled, worn-outColors: old rose, bottle green, faded colors, gray, denim blue Prints: patchwork, patches, mending-inspired embroideries Key pieces: jeans, cardigan, kimono jacketKey words: upcycling, repair, kintsugi, mending attitude,Japanese boro, FabLab, DIY, vintage, flea market, transmission

MaKe In a world where everything is going too fast, let’s take the time to make things. In a spirit of kindness, we will teach our children values and know-how, and, in doing so, we will help them build a better future. Now is the return of the handmade with its small imperfections. Let’s be the artisans of our own change!

Materials : linen, hemp, cotton mesh, bamboo, vegetable leatherColors: off-whites, nude, acid pastelsPrints: embroidery, crochet stitches, color gradients, natural dyes Key pieces: apron, embroidered dress, espadrillesKey words: craft, hand-made, solidarity, equitable, kindness, hand-dye, comfort, Kinfolk, slow life, Hygge

To illustrate these trends, three artists have been invited to share their own vision of these themes through original installations specially created for the show.

guesT arTIsT On The MaKe Trend sPaCeAfter studying Fine Arts in Toulon and several professional experiences creating costumes for film and advertising, Julie discovered weaving in Iceland and, in the research that she consequently pursued, modernized weaving.Using wool, fabrics and silk to create weaves that distinguish themselves by their volumes, textures, colors, and destructurations.

For Playtime Paris, Julie Robert will present a singular weaved sentence, made of imaginary letters and reinvented know-how.

guesT arTIsT On The rePaIr Trend sPaCeDavid Takahashi lives and works in Japan. He has always had a taste for both art and British rock music.Color and composition dominate his work. Over many years of artistic research, he developed a strong liking for the different states of the object, up to its deterioration, which is especially apparent in the textures of his pieces.

For Playtime Paris, David creates a large patchwork heart, expressing his love for the things that are around him and the act of repairing that it might refer to.

guesT arTIsT On The share Trend sPaCeDesigner and illustrator Clementine Henrion launched her design studio in 2006 along with her eponymous brand, a collection of polymorphous collections that bring art and fashion together. Through a multidisciplinary approach, her work is an attempt to recreate an exaltation of the senses: retinal marveling at the first visions of infancy, outbursts of teenage passions–the magnificent energy they bring about are key to reading her universe.

For the ‘Share’ theme, Clémentine Henrion creates an oneiric installation illustrating a celestial voyage above the world, carried on the colorful wings of “lucky” kites.

The earliest murmurs of spring bring about the birth of a fertile and sensual woman. In tune with her body and with mother nature as she whispers to her, she cultivates her garden with generosity, sharing it with her loved ones as well as on social media. If she adorns her outfits with floral prints or placed frills, she does so without naivety. Transparencies and lace reveal skin, revealing the fullness of her feminine figures.

The palette is fresh and jolly, gathering around blush pink, pure white, mandarin orange, buttercup yellow, and natural greens.
