Perry recognized for contributions to energy andtelecommunications industries 

DENVER, Feb. 06, 2017 — SSP InnovationsPresident Skye Perry has been awarded theDenver Business Journal’s prestigious “40Under 40” award. This award recognizes the40 most outstanding professionals under age40 for their business success and communityinvolvement. 

The decision to award Perry followed a reviewof more than 500 nominations representingDenver’s most accomplished and influentialbusiness people in 2017. 

“I’m extremely grateful to the Denver Business Journal for this distinguishingaward,” Perry said. “Working strategically with energy and telecommunicationsprofessionals across this country is a privilege. Together, we have made a markon the critical technology that keeps our country both powered and connectedacross very densely populated cities and incredibly rural areas alike — bothsafely and reliably.” 

The “40 Under 40” award comes soon after SSP Innovations was awarded the2017 Gator100 award from the University of Florida for the third year in a row.The Gator100 award celebrates the 100 fastest-growing Gator-owned or Gator-ledbusinesses in the world. 

Perry comes from a family of hard workers. His grandfather started Perry SteelIncorporated which his father carried on and his mother rose the corporateladder in a male-dominated era early in her career prior to becoming ajournalist.

“I must have inherited the working gene,” Perry said. “My ambition comes from acombination of wanting to prove to myself what I could do and never shyingaway from hard work.” 

Perry credits his achievements to his family support system, most importantlywife Shana Perry, and to a team of driven employees. 

“I learned a while ago you can’t force someone to succeed, but what you can do iscreate an environment that allows them to succeed,” Perry said. “I want to havemore than a successful company. I want others to love being on the journey withme.”

Perry will be honored at the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 event March16.
